I take it, even after the recent events, WHT still aren't going to process account deletion requests? I mean, my private email is now in the open for anyone who can get their hands on the stolen DB, along with my password (which yes, is hashed, but as has been made very clear, is not impossible to reverse).

So if someone has lost complete confidence in WHT and their security facilities (or, lack thereof), will WHT honor users requests to have their account deleted from the databases so when this happens again, their details won't be in the open.

Really? Because that's what we thought about our credit cards. There was an option to Delete our card info, but it still remained stored in their database...Not really the best way to instill confidence in the member base.

But OP was asking about contact information associated with forum accounts, not CC info. To my knowledge, these are handled the default vB way, meaning if you change your password and email address, they actually will be changed in the database.

I don't know a thing about the billing system. I've only seen it once a long time ago, and I have no idea how it was built. While I'm no expert in vB, I know it well enough that I'm pretty confident my answer is correct.

Edit:

All of that ^^ being said, now that I reread the original post, perhaps I'm talking about the boards, but OP is talking about the billing system itself? Please clarify, Daniel_G :)

Looks like he's specifically asking about WHT account deletions. Which, of course, we won't do.

However, we do honor name change requests. So you could have your WHT name changed, then update your email address to something non-existent.
