Hello,

I think it is time for me to get a merchant account, and not depend on iBill.com (they want to charge $750 registration fee. ouch!)

- I want to be able to process order real live once the submit button on the order form is pressed.

I'm pretty new in getting a merchant account and setting it up, so it would be great if you could explain it to me, step-by-step.

There are so many recur billing softwares out there. If you know of any that is good, please recommend it to me.

Thanks in advance.

If you are in Canada, best way is to go your local bank, get a merchant number, goto Global Payment Systems, set up a processor account then head over to Soltrus for Verisign Payflow to securely process credit cards.

In the states, you can find merchant solutions a dime a dozen.

Paynet Merchant Solutions is one. Take a look at them. They do their business with Harris Bank and can get you rolling in about 2-3 weeks depending on your business status, etc. Charge around $500-$600 for the complete solution (Startup).

EDIT: Forgot to mention -- Good luck!! :)
