Yes, I keep seeing people posting and asking this question. So, to avoid it from continuously being asked I started the poll so everyone can see the percentages of the people who use different billing software.

WHMCS in my opinion is regarded as the standard for billing systems as it's a stable and has many features that can be used for all types of services.

We use Parallels' native billing system that's built in to it's HSP interface. We have no complaints.

Parallels bought ModernBill (and everything else) but we haven't seen a change in their billing interface since they purchased that company. We'll see.

From what I have seen, it seems that WHMCS is the most popular on WHT. However, I hear a lot about ModernBill from other forums.

Ubersmith for us :)

I am using modernbill.

It has been a while since the last poll (which I think was http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=640630 - at least I couldn't find anything newer).

WHMCS is the one I use. Seems to suit my needs pretty well. They have pretty good support as well

modernbill use to be in the "Greatest Billing" position that WHMCS is in now. It was used by almost everyone in the business as it was a very superior product.

We still use it, but superior is the farthest thing from describing it now.

yes, some people do have that misguided opinion of WHMCS, it may be better than MB, but it is no where near as good as AWBS, WHMCS has the same problem as MB, it forgets to invoice people, it also doesnt like it when someone upgrades their account.

Since using AWBS we have had no issues like this and decided to go the hull hog and pay outright for a license as we believe that much in it

I really want to get my hands on the Invision Power Nexus billing system, but it's years behind schedule and I don't even know if it's going to be coming out at all at the moment.

We use WHMCS, but personally I dislike it.

We use phpCoin. We have about 60 customers and 150 sites. It fits our needs. We could use a better application but phpCoin is free and stable. So we will stick with it.

I love ubersmith but for our domain registration process we have to use whmcs which is doing its job very nicely. Ubersmith overall has the best features and I would take them back anyday if they would have directi registrar integration. It's nice to be able to speak to a company on the phone :-P

I have used phpCoin, ClientExec and WHMCS.
phpCoin is the worst software I've ever used. Never liked it in appearance or in using.
ClientExec is okay, but I find the signup difficult for customers.

WHMCS is my vote. Regularly updated, appearance is great for users and staff and it works great.

We used WHMAutoPilot a few years back, then made the switch to WHMCS.

WHMCS is so much better than WHMAP.

We've built and implemented our own custom billing system. Was a lot of work getting it done - but the flexibility (reseller with branding included) we have now makes it all worth it .

WHMCS because of its seamless integration with cPanel and HyperVM.

Ubersmith does appeal though if we ever need something more powerful in the future.

I use WHMCS as a billing source and enom as domain registration. So far I think it is an excellent billing management source.

I have found clientexec rather limiting especially with credits and promos, but it's been a while since I've looked at it. I prefer whmcs. It's the best that I've tried, although it could stand some improvements.

Agreed...

Originally when we switched from WHMCS to ClientExec ages ago I was quite excited and found it a joy to work with. As time went on I saw what it lacks and found myself missing features in WHMCS.

After a few months we switched back to WHMCS, but performed a complete overhaul on it's templates and added many custom modules.

Some things we added to the client side includes Port Monitoring, Remote Reboots, Reverse DNS, MRTG Graphs, a nicer interface, and a Java SSH Terminal...

I have some further things on my list that I want to implement, but will take a while to do.

WHMCS is so easy to customize and disguise so people do not even think you are running it ;)

WHMCS here. Haven't used another, so can't compare, but it's been great.

I've used WHMautopilot, PHPcoin, Modernbill, Whois.Cart (wow, long time ago), and ClientExec.

I enjoy using ClientExec. I really only do custom orders so I'll go in and make an invoice for $1600 and send it out and have a check mailed back.

I honestly would switch to ANYTHING that worked with QuickBooks. Maybe I'll just create a module to work with CE, but if WHMCS really wants to own the market, then integrate my QuickBooks for me.

We are using WHMCS.

We tried modernbill for about a month, but getting things setup and working right turned out to be a larger undertaking than we really could handle.

We moved to whmcs, and I have to say, it's worked awesome. Matt who does all the support over there is awesome. He gets back to you in a very reasonable time. And they can customize anything for you for a very reasonable cost.

2 Thumbs Up!

We used to use Modernbill. After several years of it randomly breaking for no reason at all, we got fed up and started looking for other solutions.

Now on WHMCS for over a year and very very happy.

We've used ClientExec for several years now. It was lacking in certain aspects of functionality in the past, but recent versions have added many useful new features. Integrates well with WHM and our assorted payment processors.

I am using WHMCS right now and it is pretty good. There are a ton of features and functions so it takes a little time to get yourself used to the system, but once you do you will find it is very powerful.

I've always used WHMCS when needed -- Clientexec is pretty good, too.
