Hey all,

I'm having some issues using QG with WHMCS, and I'm not either tech support department can really help with my settings. November was the last time a CC transaction worked in WHMCS. Right now, I need to login to QG and manually run a transaction.

QG informed me that the payment gateway url is incorrect and needs to change, and I assume that is within WHMCS somewhere. I submitted a ticket to WHMCS, who said this was not a problem since 3.6.2 - which is the version I was using from the beginning. I just upgraded to 3.8.2 and there is no improvement in CC transactions.

Since it worked until November, WHMCS is probably right and I need to figure out what the correct settings to use both together are. The hitch seems to be with the Visa/MC verification action - everytime that occurs, I get 'An error occurred. Please try again.'

Following the advice of this post (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showpost.php?p=4743521&postcount=12) I turned off MaxMind & Dial Verify in the QG settings, with no effect. I also tried turning it off in WHMCS (turning off MaxMind in the QG gateway settings), again to no avail.

If WHMCS is not right and QG is right, where can I change the urls? Could a custom template be at fault?

Regardless, I need to solve this asap as I'm expecting a big increase in site traffic later this week. Any help would be most appreciated.

To be clear, the problem occurs during fraud prevention - here's the text on that page:
"As part of our fraud prevention measures, you will now be asked to perform the Verified by Visa or Mastercard SecureCode checks if your credit card is enrolled for this service."

Can you be a little more specific as to what exact error messages are happening? You can check in the gateway log and get some more information on it.

For transactions after November, it's showing a 'wrong url' error (WHMCS support says that the urls are fine). The transactions I tried today don't even show up in the log - these are produce an error after the fraud prevention page.

You most likely either have the IP wrong in the QG settings area or your settings with QC are to strict. Turn off the VBV and MSC for now and try it again. See if its even possible to have your QG setttings changed to default, update your ip (make sure its the hostname ip, not your domain ip, but doesnt hurt to list both).

I wish i could help more, but the issue is definitely in your settings and not at the fault of QG or WHMCS.

I don't have an IP listed at all in the QG settings. I've had them turn off VBV/MSC, and I've turned off MaxMind as well, but now the issue seems to be WHMCS. When I try to do a cc transaction, it starts the VBV/MSC process (there's a button for 3D secure checkout that goes to QG that probably would work), then shows the error on a page that does not have the invoice number: https://support.echoleaf.com/viewinvoice.php?id=. It should at least be able to return to the invoice, so maybe that's a clue?

And the transaction is not even in the log - none of the attempts from the past 3 days are in the log.

I just found out that the problem was ... me. Or specifically, something in my custom template. I switched the template to Portal and the transaction was successful (after I futzed a bit with the QG settings). I wish I'd tried this a few days ago - I'm getting a shout-out on a major podcast tomorrow and need to get a new template done asap.
