I was wonder what everyone does when it comes time to register a domain for a client.

Do you prefer to do this so you can change the name servers yourself and not have to bother the client?
I am torn on this one because I would rather them be responsible for the account and paying with the time is up. I think the best may be for me to suggest just a few with tutorials customized to point the nameservers to my account

Do you charge them any extra for registering it for them?

Do you use just one company to register the domains or do you use a variety?
My initial thoughts are to use just one so that I dont have to remember a ton of different logins.

Who do you recommend to register domains?
I personally have used netfirms --> just bought two for about 6USD/ea. And goDaddy --> i think its 15.00, it was my very first. I wonder if I can move it to netfirms?

One last one - Anyone know why their is such a great price difference in registering .com's??

Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

A domain reseller account would work better for you then the customer and you can edit the nameservers ect.

i second on that and i guess directi should make things easier for you.

its upto you, but if i were you i wouldn't charge for customer service.

There's no harm in trying different registrars but its recommended to use the one whom you trust :)

as per your last question the .com pricing truly depends upon the registrar and varies alot between them.
