I figured this would be a good place to throw this question out!

I co-host a radio show on the company's behalf on Fridays called "Beyond the Web" which is basically an AM talk show. We try to revolve the content around web-related topics, although we usually end up talking about what Slashdot doles out to me the night before! :D

So Friday is the next show, we record it at 1:30pm CST and then it broadcasts over the weekend....any suggestions for topics? Thanks for the help!

We used to do it live, but then they moved the time slots to 9:30am on Sat and 10:30am on Sunday, and nobody could make it. So we pre-record them now. We aren't tied to one particular subject. The show is 3 segments long and we can usually cover 5-6 things in that time.

We aren't REALLY tied to web stuff. I guess you could say its more of a technology show. But we'd like to try to keep it to the web. We plug various things we're doing (and they run commercials for us during the show).

I'll say this much...call in shows are an absolute NIGHTMARE if you have an iota of anything to do with computers (exponentially so if you are in Iowa). Cos that's when the naive PC users using an ancient system start a 'callin!

"Hey, I keep trying to install Print Shop and I keep getting such and such error. Do you know what that is?" The question repeats itself in various permutations and is an absolute BORE for anybody who doesn't have the misfortune of being the caller of the moment. uy!

9.30 am and 10.30 am and no one could get up that early ?

as for talk back callers , you need a really good producer to filter the callers first

what about a little segment of history ? the 'techstory' segment
a 5-7 minute background to some of the early tech achievements, lol you could even cover Stonehenge there

did you work out some new topics ?

I'm dying to know ..

I have a lot more ideas and I've written up a little running sheet for them, let me know if you're interested in a friendly exchange of tips from another radio presenter
