I'm having a tough time finding Kansas City hosting companies. Either their sites are down, or total crap. I tried contacting Sprint but they have limited info on their site and haven't gotten back to me in over a week.

Anyone else located or hosting in the Kansas City area?

I would think there'd be a worthwhile NOC somewhere in this city.

I highly recommend Communitech.net. They have higher prices but you cannot beat the customer service they provide. I always had a live person to talk to that was very knowledable and helpful. I was with then for three years, and only left to move to a datacenter closer to home.

Is there a certain reason you want a local host? On this nations backbones, it doesn't really matter too much whether the host is 10 miles or 1000 miles away. Or maybe it's not a bandwidth issues. Maybe someone wants to check in on their host? ;)

Try St. Louis, Denver, or Chicago.

Communitech.Net, owned by Interland, is located in Kansas City.

They're considered one of the 'best' in the US.

Hello everyone. Just got back from vacation. As far as the site having issues, that was easily resolved. There was too litte maxclients set in apache for the server. I apologize to that.

I assure everyone within a week this mess that is going on with us will be cleaned up. Appearantly we have some issues going on that are needing to be addressed, and do not want the boards cluttered with our problems. We will take care of this and fast.

For future, can anyone please, anyone, if they are seeing problems with our site or anothers, email us or them? No one informed us of this issue until we saw this on the board.

That's the last thing I'd want to hear out of my host and especially a prospective host. The client should never have to notify you of YOUR problems.

Good luck to you!

Yes, it probably is a great business opportunity. Kansas City is the most central of any major city in the US. I tried to find a host there awhile back, and all I came up with was Communitech<sigh>. I know a business assoc in KC that owns a similar large business - you gave me an idea. If downtown is too high-priced, there is plenty of land in KC. Just look at all the vacant land from downtown to the airport, that is an hour away from downtown.
