Alex[nl] 10-30-2002, 10:59 AM WOW!
Looks good to me!!
UH-Matt 10-30-2002, 11:08 AM Well, ill say it looks rubbish - purely because this is WHT and a thread wouldnt be the same without an argument and a differecne of opinion :D :D
mind21_98 10-30-2002, 11:12 AM Oooh, how much did you get it for? Looks pretty neat.
MDJ2000 10-30-2002, 11:12 AM LOL UH-Matt!
Classic cars rule man, that's a sweet ride.
richy 10-30-2002, 11:17 AM looks excellent. i like the old brit sports cars, theres some cars out there with real personality you just dont get in many cars these days.
KualoJo 10-30-2002, 11:22 AM Sweet!!! :):D
web docta 10-30-2002, 11:55 AM Sweet Ride! I had that model in a convertible but it wasn't in as good shape as yours is is.
Nice car, but you don't look very happy about it!
I used to have a '56 Chevy BelAir, and I always smiled when I leaned against it.
:)
Congratulations, have fun with it!
cedwards 10-30-2002, 01:28 PM Wow nice!! but since you dont look so happy with it...just give it to me lol.
filburt1 10-30-2002, 02:12 PM Gotta love the 12 MPG you probably get from the new car...;)
Andrew 10-30-2002, 02:20 PM What engine ya got in that thing? :D
Well... It cost $3,000 which isn't bad considering it had a lot of work done to it.
I've got a Buick 350 2BBL in it, lots of torque!
Fuel economy isn't bad, gets about 14MPG around town, but it takes Premium.
BTW: It has only 85K miles on it.
rockergrrl 10-30-2002, 08:24 PM If it has factory AC its worth $3,630 - High End. That's in perfect/mint condition.
Does it have any flaws in it at all? Iffy seats, cracked dash, etc?
So you may have gotten taken advantage of...
Just a thought ;)
We have a 1967 Dodge Monaco 500 - Hard Top. It has a V8 - 383 Enginec - 325 Horse Power. 4 BBL Carb. All leather seats/dash - black.
I don't have a picture of it myself -- the pictures we took a couple months ago, are for some reason not on the 'puter anymore.
Dug this out from online -- not our car -- but same year, model, etc.
We have a Gold one, though, with a black landou top, and chrome trim along the bottom -- it actually looks better than this all white one. Worth $7000+ :) And we only paid $800 for it (the guy's wife wanted it out of the driveway).
Perfect dash, perfect seats... doesn't have AC. I do have the factory radio, and steering wheel.
I also have the original owners manual.
The main reason it cost so much was due to the money put into it. The carb, distributor, and brakes were rebuilt less than 500 Miles ago. It also has new shocks, and tires.

You have a rare engine there my friend.
I had a 350 Buick engine that had 90,000 miles, still ran good, but was in a 1976 piece of $HIT century station wagon.
I ended up selling the whole car for like $400, a week later I
ran into a friend of mine who had a mint 69 Buick Grand sport with no motor forsale for $1000 :bawling:
I kick myself today, I could have rebuilt that 350 I had and dropped it right in that GS :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:
Yeah. Once, I pay back my dad, I'm going to look for a GS to put a built 455 into.
Acroplex 10-30-2002, 09:49 PM Is this the same model the sniper had? :D
rockergrrl 10-30-2002, 09:52 PM Nah.. he had like a 93 Chevy Caprice ;)
Before this car, we had a '73 Chevy Caprice Classic -- had a 454 engine in it -- very nice ride. Had to junk it because we got in an accident with it -- Ambulance's fault -- their insurance only wanted to give us $500 for a $6000 car -- didn't have $$ for an attorney at the time.
Acroplex 10-30-2002, 09:54 PM Oh. I wouldn't tell it apart from a Rolls :D
rockergrrl 10-30-2002, 10:22 PM LOL
Oh trust me, you can tell the difference... hehe
Lamont 10-30-2002, 11:01 PM I remember taking a ride to Disneyland as a teenager in one of those. We easily cruised at 120-130 mph through Nevada (Before the 55mph thing). Real nice ride
Yeah. It has no problem going fast.
Today, I did a burnout without trying.
homeiss 10-30-2002, 11:16 PM Nice car!
Well, I have a 1978 Plymouth Volare and it sure isn't good for much...except driving from point A to point B. :P
I like it though, it's not in good condition at all but I think it only got a little over 60K kilometers on it. I'll tell you one thing though it's kind of freaky to drive in winter. ;)
I use to own an '83 LTD.
Last winter I was driving up to my dad's house, and I slid on his driveway, ended up going down it sideways for 15-20 feet.
