Hi Dennis, new *cough* posts button. I feel crippled without it.

The "you have 1 new private message" notification is a tad annoying. :)

When you search for an item, the results display an incorrect reply number. I searched for something and it displayed 0 replies when in turn it had over 10.

Did the thread subscriptions get taken care of? I made a post on it, if you need more information.

Did the thread subscriptions get taken care of? I made a post on it, if you need more information.Not if you're talking about receiving notice of threads you haven't subscribed to. Because the problem is, you were subscribed to the thread ID which has become a different thread.

Sure.

I have this little message under the "You last logged in" text on the right in the top block on the homepage:

You have 1 unread message(s).
Total Messages: xxx.
Open Your PM Inbox

I don't get a popup for the private message that is "unread", but I cannot find an unread message in my inbox. :(

Edit: Yes, I have tried that. :D

Hi Dennis, new *cough* posts button. I feel crippled without it.It seems to be fixed now...

So, mind changing 90 seconds to 30 seconds interval among posting?

When I'm typing this post :P

Well, until I *bang* on it, I will not realise it... So it I assume it's fixed now?

It seems to be fixed now...Well, it's not exactly fixed. I'd call it a work in progress. While it will return results, those results may be a bit behind. We're having to manually update some replication data.

SoftWareRevue

... So it I assume it's fixed now?Why assume anything?

If you just tried it when you made that post and it didn't work, it isn't fixed. If you just tried it when you made that post and it did work, it is fixed. Either you didn't try it. Or you're just wanting me to post more.

I'll say it once, and I won't repeat it.

We have temporarily adjusted the flood control to be 15 seconds for all members.

Temporary right? :D

No way the delay should be as short as 15 seconds on an ongoing basis.

It *should* take longer than that to think about the thread contents and a possible uesful response.

For the me too specialists, maybe they can try twatter :D

You'd think so wouldn't you, I can see a few abusing the 15 seconds to try and quickly make up the posts they lost without giving thought to what they posted.

There is a page load error on every page of WHT in IE7. Think it has something to do with a java script or something on the page

Error: object doesn't support the property or method

Please fix this!

SWR, the JS error was present prior to the hack. I can definitely confirm that.

SoftWareRevue
03-31-2009, 05:12 PM
Yeah, now that you mention it, I recall something from back in January that didn't affect all IE users but was likely something caused by the peelback ad. I'll see if there's an update on that. Maybe it was fixed and is back due to the restore.

I'm still getting the "no new threads" thing every time I click on new posts. I've tried logging out and back in again, but it doesn't make any difference. Either no one is posting here anymore, or there is still a bug.

Couple of things I've noticed, of course not complaints, just info might be helpful to you

Some issues might have existed pre bast**d hackers.

I see this:
You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may post attachments
You may edit your posts

When the thread is locked.
So, actually, I mayn't :P

________________________________

In "My Member Profile - beta", clicking on "Find All posts" and "Find All threads" wont bring anything up post 08-12-2008

I have posts in the last few days, although it's possible I DON'T have any between 08-12-2008 and the last few days.

Signatures

I had two links in my sig, went into the sigs editor to change them and it didn't show any bbcode, just the www . domain . com
So DELETED the two current links (editing area was empty) and typed in two new links (no bbcode just www . etc ) and after submit both links were actually links to the two old ones but with the new text.

I had to highlight the link, click remove url, delete the text then re-enter the bbcode again.
Would be good to always show the bbcode on edit sig for all links.

(not the end of the world, but sometimes issues with one thing lead to or explain issues with others)

One I just encountered. When trying to use the advanced posting mode in this forum (Forum Announcements, Feedback, and Questions) I got a message that I don't have permission to access the page. Yes, I'm logged in and I have enough posting privileges. Using Firefox 3.whatever. And when I clicked the link to the "if you believe this is in error, contact the helpdesk," it returned a 404 error page.

I haven't read the entire thread, so my apologies if this has been mentioned before --

These are only styling issues, but knowing all bugs is a good thing to avoid any further issues happening from them, and could be the reason something else is not working correctly...

--------------------------------

This image: webhostingtalk.com/images/navigation-clear-span.png
Looks to be in the wrong place. I've attached an image of the problem.

It comes from this code:
<div id="navigation">
<div class="container">(ol's etc)
</div>
<div class="clear"> <-- this is a horizontal div spanning the full width of the page
<span> </span> <-- this is where the image itself is called
</div>
</div>--------------------------------

The "Upgrade Your Membership" link is not on the navigation area. It is on the white BG of the top advertisement. Attached image also shows this. I highlighted the text itself so it is visible on the white BG.

I adjusted the width of the container and it needed to be 983px wide before the membership upgrade link would show where it should be on the blue nav area.

So in this file: style-46afeb1e-00013.css

div.container{
margin:0 auto;
padding:0 14px;
width:972px; <-- adjusted this to 983px

}Disabling the width altogether also resolved the issue, then of course some padding would adjust the nav link styles or block the entire div to auto align it.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 with Firefox 3.0.8. I am on a 32 inch monitor at 1360 x 768 resolution, so I doubt my width allowance is the issue, in fact most sites are a tiny dot in the centre of my screen.

sasha
04-22-2009, 12:50 PM
That was bugging me too, so I added at this to my Greasemonkey sript for WHT right after upgrade.

var ul = document.getElementById ('navigation').getElementsByTagName('UL')[0] ;
ul.removeChild(ul.lastChild)
ul.removeChild(ul.lastChild)

Forum index has a big blank white space on the left side. This is with Firefox 3.0.7 - 3.0.10. It is only there when logged in. If viewing the index page while logged out, there is no huge blank spot.
