Hi,

I'm not 100% sure if this is allowed, therefore I'm asking to make sure :) Let's say, for example, my name is "Edward" and I run "websites.com" a webhost, would I be allowed to have a wht account for personal use (as Edward) and an account to represent the host, "websites.com". The websites account would be used for posting offers/addressing issues and stuff like that, whereas the Edward account would be for personal use.

Is this allowed?

Greetings!

It's all about the rules, man!:

You are permitted a maximum of one account, active or inactive, regardless of how many companies you represent. If you choose to ignore this important restriction, all your accounts will be disabled.

Greetings!

So if I own xxhost and we want our sales people to be able to use a WHT account for advertising, keeping it separate from all personal accounts, this isn't allowed? Hmm, okay.

Multiple employees or representatives can have their own WHT account; there is no problem with that. However, you personally (or any one person) cannot have multiple WHT accounts.

The policy is not clear. In my opinion, the policy should be like this:
"Company accounts (other than your personal one) are allowed to be used by your company employees and you but only for talks related to that particular company. All personal matters to be talked about via your personal account only."

EDIT: I said the policy is not clear, I must say it is clear but not right. You can not give your personal accounts to your employees and EVERY employee can not create new accounts as many would come and go.

saadsalman,

The idea isn't that a company 'gives' employees WHT accounts, or even shares access to an account to its employees. The rule is fairly simple; one account to one person. Even if you have two businesses (and wanted to represent each individually), you can only have one WHT account.

The rule in no way affects who else in your company can register an account here. It is up to you, their employer, to tell them whether or not they may represent your company here.

I think that the rule is there to reinforce the notion that WHT is a community of people and not just a community of businesses. There is one person behind each account. It is people (the person) who signs up the WHT first... whether or not they represent a business comes second to that.

I hope that this clarifies things

One final question from me; If I worked for a company, and the owner created an account for posting offers and replying to reviews and stuff and this was his only account, if I posted an offer from this account, or a reply to a review on behalf of the company, would this count as me having multiple accounts, or would this be allowed?

citricsquid, no. The rule is very clear.

One account, per person, period. You cannot share your account with anyone else, in any facet.

(Gruffness not intended. One should have more than a couple sips of coffee before responding. ;))
