Hello everyone :) Recently me and several friends want to start an online community webpage, complete with forums and our own POP email accounts, and after some searching my friend found this affordable host - Hostonce, and two days after signup, we received an activation notice.

It stated that our domain is ready, we can start using ftp to transfer files. With the given ftp access, I logged on the server and into my directory, but things went wrong after that step. I was not able to transfer anything, or see any existing folders. Here is the FTP log:

No matter how hard I tried, I can't gain access to the root directory, or see anything on the ftp client. Any idea what is causing this?

Gee :D only 2 days to setup the account?? hehe :eek:

I'd do some searching (http://webhostingtalk.com/search.php) for HostOnce and you'll see why it's called Host ONCE!! ;)

Yes soon after the trouble started I went on and checked HostOnce's reputation and I was full of regret, but since our funding is limited, we will try to make best of the situation (that taught me never sign up for one year on an untested host). Because of the search, I found this website :)

I will see if this problem can get resolved, if not I will get a new host and let the $60 lost be a lesson learned.

!!Host + "free" Domainname in same package = NoNo!!
!!Customer support by "tickets" is a NoNo!!

Guess lots of new webadmins like me went through the HostedOnce haunted house to learn the essentials of web hosting... *cry*

I've experienced competence without tickets, and I've experienced tickets without competence. ;)
