View Full Version : Dedicated Server?
Peter 02-05-2000, 06:56 AM Does anyone have experiences with dedicated server hosting they'd like to share.
I'm about to move my 6 hosted sites (Intermedia - 1st Class) to a dedicated server but am having problems finding a company who offers good hardware and excellent support.
I'd prefer a smaller company with a more personal service rather than these huge corporations who are only interested in grabbing your money!
Have reasonable budget, but limited experience with NT and IIS.
Best wishes
Guest 02-05-2000, 06:56 AM Have you looked at http://www.web2010.com ?
Matty 02-05-2000, 06:57 AM If your budget covers it then go for Digital Nation ( http://www.digitalnation.com ). Don't waste your time searching the net for unlimited bandwidth dedicated servers, because when you do find them within a few month they will change their policy (just noticed two that were offering unlimited and have now changed). Dn is very reliable, secure and I can personally put you in touch with people that can provide references.
Communitech also provided provided dedicated servers and have some great spec machines at good prices.
Peter 02-05-2000, 06:57 AM Tried web2010.com - but couldn't find any useful information on NT servers except the form to configure hardware.
Thanks
Peter
Guest 02-05-2000, 06:58 AM Communitech.Net offers the absolute best value in shared and especially Dedicated Servers!!! I have 2.
Guest 02-05-2000, 06:58 AM Try ForSite... http://www.forsite.net
Matty 02-05-2000, 06:58 AM It's quite funny how people use the word 'Try' when referring to dedicated servers, unless your made of money then you don't wanting to be trying, you want to get it right the first or second time.

coight 03-09-2003, 12:05 AM Why?
Blades 03-09-2003, 12:10 AM look up www.hostcount.com they have an ok rating system.
also www.he.net has a great reputation for dedicated servers, however you should consider finding one close to your business.
Good luck!

Communitech is being shut down and is right in the middle of a lawsuit between Interland and the old owners. Thier customers are leaving in droves. In the last two months 6 out of every 10 new customers we've gotten are from Communitech.
I'd recommend C_I_Host before I'd recommend Communitech right now.

There are a couple. There was a big article in the Kansas City Business Journal but I can't find it. Our datacenter is located two blocks from Communitech and I know alot of people who work there. It's a mess.
