View Full Version : Hostica.com nightmare cancelation

Okay i signed up for an account with hostica.com after a friend's recommendation. There prices seemed reasonable so i went ahead. However, i found another host that matched my needs better so i switched.

I have been trying to cancel my account at hostica.com since the 17th of October. I have send 5 additional e-mails, plus my original cancellation request. Not one has been replied too. I have posted on their message board asking about the problem. My post was deleted, with no explanation or private message. I have also placed a phone call to sales and had to leave a message. When the call was returned, I was told that it would be canceled within a day. That was on the 21st of October and nothing has been done. I planning on leaving another unpleasant voice mail.

So just for anyone looking for future hosts. Stay away from hostica.com

Also, if they refuse to cancel my account and keep billing me do i have any recourse. Can i call my credit card company and tell them my story and have them refuse payment to Hostica.com?

ouch....what a nightmare...

If you can not get in touch with Hostica.com and have tried (which you obviously have) you can call your credit card company and ask them to do a chargeback on that charge and to block all future payments.

I just sent off a PM to the forum moderators and am going to leave a dirty voice mail tommorow morning. :angry:

Well i have been calling them all day today. Just voicemails though. Left 3 not so pleasant sounding messages. Plus i sent another e-mail today. Total is up to 6 plus original cancellation request. Also reposted on their message board. Going to see if it gets deleted again.

If the account is not canceled by tomorrow morning I think i might call my credit card company and ask them to deny payment to hostica.com. Does anyone know if this will placed on my credit record? I really hope to have this issue resolved, but i have been trying and they do not respond to my e-mails, phone calls, message board posts, PMs.

I had two hosts a few years ago that refused to stop billing me...

Call you CC company and do a charge back. While you at it, report them to the BBB. You can do this online at www.bbb.org.

Aye - thats horrible. Any host that has such quality customer service should be reported to bbb.
