I am currently hosting my client's sites on Virtualscape. Do not really have any complaint about them.
However, I am looking for a backup hosting provider just in case. Webhosting.com seem to be a good alternative.

Can anyone who have used either of the above 2 providers give me some input?

Virtualscape is certainly the better of the two, by quite a bit.
A few people have had positive experiences with WebHosting.com however many many others have had negative experiences with them.

Stay far away from webhosting.com!
