Whats a good FREE php message board?

But than again I thought that it was the database that was holding them back, had they had a better database setup, they would have been a lot better. I have seen InfoPop scale very well, up to 13000 on line at once with no visible lag. I have only seen phpBB scale to 900 or so online at once and than performance really started to slow to a crawl, but I think hardware was the limiting factor there. I was at a point where I was going to switch to vbulletin, but moving over 8000 members and 180,000 posts was not going to be fun... so the devs at YaBB stepped up to the plate and rocked my world! Now, it's blazing fast and I'm a very, very, very happy (non-paying =) customer I've tried Invision and phpbb, but don't like either as much... Ikonboard, I still have yet to try but from what I hear is not too good... |
