Anyone have experience with serverhost.com? The utilize fnsi.com I believe - anything on them? They posted an ad in the ad forum and it seems like a good deal.

I appreciate the suggestion but I had already done that and there is nothing aside from the offer in the ads forum I mentioned.

Just to clarify, FNSI is one of the connections into our Ohio facility - the primary connection is UUnet into that facility. If you go to MAE-EAST, you'll most likely go over FNSI. We should have a Level3 connection shortly in addition (waiting on Level3 to finish their end). We're in negotiations with Qwest, XO Communications, and Savvis for additional connectivity as well.

Thanks for the clarification on the search. I will say this, I've gotten quick emails fom Jeff(?) each time I've written. Nobody has a server there?

<EDIT: I had significantly more luck searching for Jeff's username and got some links on discussions. The discussions did have serverhost name in them so obviously the search is still down for keywords! >

I have a number of servers in the Ohio data center.
Unfortunately they have been down for for at least seven hours :bawling: (possibly a switch problem) and the support there is slow.

The network is nice and fast and up 99.99% of the time, but the support is bad.

If your server(s) do not ever crash or you need on site support, it's a great host. If you plan to run a serious business and can not afford downtime than they wouldn't be such a good choice.

If you going to get the full rack you might as well get remote reboot and console equipment and that should solve the slow support problem.

The network is great, the service is not...
Jeff said they are going to hire more people...

In response to energy's post, the majority of the problems he's had have been software problems. He calls into voice mail (not the appropriate place for emergency issues), says his server is down, and doesn't give any specific information as to which server is down, and the applicable passwords to login to fix the server. Today is the first *real* outage, due to a Cisco Catalyst switch going out. Unfortunately, since it's Easter, we've had a hard time getting a replacement. We found a replacement, and it's been put back online.

Do you guys offer FreeBSD on the servers, or allow custom servers? I'm in need of a dual processor FreeBSD server with 512 or 256 MB of RAM with around 250 GB per month.

FreeBSD?
In this thread (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=6297) (in the advertising forum) jkehe said that yes, they will install FreeBSD.

If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me, I don't think that counts as advertising. ;)
