View Full Version : Weinbar
Zergio 04-14-2001, 03:59 PM I have signed with them 4 days ago. I was promised what my server will be .ready at the same evening. In that day it was not ready. In the next day I was told by ICQ what they have a problem with a network card and it will be fixed in several hours. And in that day server was not ready also :(. After that I did not contacted anybody from Weinbar.
I don't know what to do: My email is not answered, ICQ support is tuned off, all my websites are in down already five days  .
What is the solution for this? I have decied for myself what I will wait until the Tuesday, and if nothing will be happened, I'll go to bank to make a chargeback.
kunal 04-14-2001, 04:10 PM woooops..... this is the first of the complaints i have heard about them... they should have a valid explination... let us know how it goes...
Zergio 04-14-2001, 04:34 PM I will post all information here if I will get any response from them.
Sally 04-14-2001, 05:07 PM There's something very bad going on at Weinbar. Our resold domains have been inundating us with complaints about the servers not responding for days now, and all we get are "we're working on it" or "it should be working now" from Weinbar. But the problems persist and then, all the passwords got hosed.
Incoming domain e-mail is now getting lost. Wonderful.
StephenRS 04-14-2001, 05:20 PM I have sent emails and posted messages to this forum last night and no response...
Last contact:
I did GET an email from Michael Weinstein Friday at 3:50pm PDT.
This is interesting... WeinBar was actually on the top of my list of potential providers for another dedicated server, so hopefully this will be resolved soon. Hate to see bad things happen to good companies.
Good morning everyone!
Please let me start out by apologizing to those who have been affected by our virtual hosting dilemmas with Alabanza. I will explain here in this forum so that you all can understand.
1. To Zergio: We have your situation resolved as I spoke to you on ICQ. For the record, the server was installed as requested and was 1 day late due to a faulty network card. For this I apologized and we doubled your memory for free to compensate. The emails were sent, but somehow were not delivered.
2. To Sally: Your sites are obviously on our Alabanza servers and here is what happened:
We had ordered yet another server from Alabanza because we don't like to put too many sites on a server. When we had new servers from them in the past, the moving of domains went very smoothly. This time there was a small problem. Some of your sites were moved and even though the log files said they were complete, there were errors in that the IPs became unbound and the virtual host directives were deleted. This caused us major problems for about 10% of the domains moved. We didn't know which ones were affected until we received the information from the helpdesk. If there are any more sites that are still affected, we will take care of them immediately. We just need to know about them!
3. To Stephen: Yes, I received your email, but I didn't reply to it yet. My wife went into labor 2 days ago and things have been very hectic for me. I will respond to it shortly.
We have given our tech guys a few days off to be with their families during the holiday, and I was fully prepared to have things run very nicely in their absences. Boy, was I mistaken! When it rains, it pours!
Please note, I am not trying to make excuses for any of the situations mentioned here, rather an explanation so everyone is aware of the situation. On Monday, everyone is back to work. And I will still be working today, and tomorrow without any sleep. Hopefully I will be able to drive my new son and wife home from the hostpital!
Zergio 04-14-2001, 07:16 PM I am informing what the problem was solved. They set up the server at the second day, but the confirmation email was lost. Moreover, they have doubled memory at my computer for this delay for free! Wow!
Hope for a successful work with them!:agree:
AtlantaWebhost.com 04-14-2001, 08:00 PM Michael,
Congratulations on the new son! Hopfully he will get all of his good looks from his mother :)
Best regards,
Frank Rietta
StephenRS 04-14-2001, 08:34 PM Congrats on the son!
No problem. The only problem this group has is being spoiled by you in the past :)
freakysid 04-14-2001, 09:41 PM Michael, I don't know you from a bar of soap, but congratulations on the birth of your son.
dektong 04-14-2001, 10:30 PM OK people, let's give Mich a little break so that he can enjoy his newly born son :)
cheers,
Congrats, on your new son.
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Having a newborn and running a company when your techs are out and disaster hits and running on no sleep and... well, I can go on and on, but I won't.
But, thank you for your support and best wishes. Again, I do apologize for not being more active, but the past couple of days has been a rough ride. And we all go through them!
I justed ordered my new dedicated server through Weinbar. Ordered it Friday morning (4/14) and it was setup by Saturday (4/15). I had a few questions and needed help with a few things last night after I got into the server. Michael was online last night and we e-mailed back and forth several times. He was very helpful. So far I'm very pleased with his service and the response times on the new server.
Michael, I had NO IDEA that your wife just gave birth to a son! WOW! Now that I know that I'm even MORE impressed with you. You are going to be a VERY busy and tired man soon!! :)
Here's to a great working relationship and CONGRATS on your new son!!
BJ
dektong 04-15-2001, 01:09 PM Ha... BJ... so you are the the reason that keeps Mich online all night? Now you feel guilty right? :D
cheers,
Softerweb 04-15-2001, 01:14 PM It`s just great to see when a company takes full responsibilty after something has gone wrong. You know, it`s not only positive for the customers, but also for the company itself.
I mean, Michael could have showed up here and said blah, blah this, and blah, blah that, it`s not seldom I see hosts blaming they`re customers or providers for everything. In my eyes his company stands out even stronger after reading this.
Great work Michael, and enjoy every second you can with your newborn son, they grow extremely quick!
Wazup
Hehe:
Thanks! Yeah, it seems like he has grown up already!
Well, I think we had better sell some more servers because college costs are rising every day!
Isn't that sad? I am a new father and all I can think about is his college education!
StephenRS 04-15-2001, 04:27 PM You think ahead and are pratical -- makes you well suited to the ISP business :)
dektong, maybe a bit *guilty* but much more impressed...:D
Keep up the great work Michael!

With the cost of college there's no reason not to start thinking early :D Oh and medical, dental, first cars..... and about a million other things the little parasites need.
Welcome to the Daddy Club by the way. I know you'll find out what the rest of us already know - there's nothing better :)
