I was just wondering how you all get new clients for your hosting companies? Like where do you advertise, what do you do, etc?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Sign up with all the hosting directories and lists, submit to the search engines, and go for word of mouth.

Your local area is probably the best source of customers. To advertise online or expect to draw online customers, you will be struggling with all the other hosts out there. Go down to your local Chamber of Commerce and join them. The chamber office will probably have events going on which will give you exposure to other businesses and give you the chance to talk with potential clients. The local newspaper Ad is a lot cheaper then an online advertisement.

The other side is most of your customers will be really close thus any problems can more then likely be handled with a local phone call.

With all the hosting companies out there, you will have a better chance at talking with a potential client and getting their business vs. them looking on the net for the thousands of other hosting companies.
