View Full Version : Imici
JBIZ718 10-25-2002, 10:19 PM Many of you guys use trillian and or aol, msn, icq, god knows what else .
Here is the program I have come to use.
www.imici.com
Unlike trillian, Imici is authorized on aol, icq, and msn networks. Totally encrypted. There is the free version and well the 25$ paid version.
I have the paid one, much more reliable then trillian, just not skinable.
Check it out

IGobyTerry 10-25-2002, 11:21 PM Yeah, we used it at work. Was totally awesome. The only problem I had with it was that when you hit certain keys it would close out the window, and when doing as much typing and exiting out of windows as I did a window would pop up and I hit a key and wam it would be gone. But it's a nice program still
progex 10-26-2002, 08:09 AM What's so bad about Trillian and AOL, ICQ, and MSN?
It still works doesn't it. ;)
Also, I like how they imitated Trillian's IM style.
JBIZ718 10-26-2002, 01:22 PM Maybe your not aware but Imici has been around long before Trillian.

Actually, not it wasn't. ;)
For proof, read this info from Imici:

And read this from Trillian:

IGobyTerry 10-26-2002, 03:58 PM I don't like Trillian.... it's all clunky and cluttered with crap. The interface looks cool, but the useability is horrible.
Santoman 10-26-2002, 04:16 PM I've actually become quite fond of trillian, where I've got accounts on all those networks, it was nice to put them all together under one.
The biggest pain in the butt is MSN .NET. Always needs to be up, because I'm using Outlook Express 6.0. I just don't run it, and let Trillian handle it... Still...
I even purchased Trillian Pro, which, is saying alot for me, since let's face it, the IM's are FREE... :)
Steve - Enjoying the fire.... :)

Then Trillian Pro is for you. :D
Btw, another great thing about Trillian Pro is the vast number of plug-ins available.... And it's just beginning!

Yeah, although I've got weatherbug running, I pulled the accuweather plug in and some news ones. VERY Cool.

JBIZ718 10-26-2002, 05:41 PM To me regardless of all the plugins and skins, I want a stable solution which for me trillian is not.
Imici gives me that stability, plus total encryption.
