I basically have a question about signatures at WHT. The rules state that signatures shall only be four lines of text. Does this mean four lines of text or just four lines? Yes, I know, wierd question. For example:

Would this be a valid signature?

Cheap and reliable Web services!

It has more than four lines, but only four lines of text (well, if you dig deep in ASCII, then a line break is text in a way). So how do you guys/gals interpret the rules?

If Joe Bum's signature is invalid, then wouldn't Chicken's signature be invalid as well?

Just something that caught my eye. ;)

NOTE: I'm not trying to pick on Chicken, just his signature was the first to catch my eye.

i assumed it to be 4 lines total...

i think they were trying to cut down on the actual size of the sigs so that they don't go on forever...

It is 4 lines total, be them blank, or be them word-like. Mine was actually a mistake, indeed there was an extra blank line in there. This has been corrected. It is now 4 lines (thanks for pointing it out), and I don't think you were picking on me :D -I have to follow the guidelines as does everyone else.

mods have to follow rules??, damn whats the world coming to

Its true, ive been burnt a couple of times for breaking the rules which I write nasty e-mails about to others.

But trust me there is nothing worse than a mod getting his own post reported and having to edit his post for breaking the rule, hehe

How strict is this rule to be enforced?
I often see five and six line signatures.
Should they all be reported?

All the ones you (and anyone else) reports are taken care of. SO if you see it, it is only because it hasn't been reported and/or we've not seen it yet.

I think there should be a rule not allowing signatures with less than two characters in them. ;) Just kidding..... :D
