View Full Version : Oh yeah...
Tim Greer 04-13-2001, 07:52 AM Here's a system I've been wanting for a few years now;
A Sun Enterprise 10000;
Up to 64 GB memory.
Up to 64 CPU's.
16 board slots.
Can move 12.5 GBps bandwidth
Geez, how much do you suppose one of those bad boy's would cost?
Far more cash than I'll ever get in a year :D
(sorry, have no idea how much they cost)
TheComputerGuy 04-13-2001, 08:01 AM this is kinda broad but, 68-100k,

Well, I recall seeing somewhere a few years ago, and i might be wrong, but it was like $64,000+ and I don't know what it came with for that.
TheComputerGuy 04-13-2001, 08:35 AM I meant what I wrote up there, thats why I said it was a bit broad. my mistake.

Oh, of course... I was just thinking from memory, that it was that amount. I could be wrong... I wonder though, if it had all the RAM, CPU's, Drives, etc... I do accept donations...
I wish I had a machine faster than a P100......
IPC PRO 04-13-2001, 10:20 PM I don't use Sun equipment (Albeit, I have been buying their stock. :) However, you can configure the machine on-line at http://www.nisservers.com, I would have done it for you but I haven't the foggiest....
TheComputerGuy 04-14-2001, 07:39 AM JTY I bought an 800 MHZ Duron for 80 USD, then motherboard for 110, and 256 dimm for 90, so 310 all together, I upgraded,
The 10,000 fully loaded is like 1+ mil. But who wants the 10,000 anyways.
There is the new starfire that will replace the 10000. It is going to use the new ultrasparc 3.
