I used to be with Webexpose, so how is Cosmotek? Is it better than the old webexpose or is it still the same? [no support whatsoever]

Thanks!

I'm a reseller for them and since they took over Web Expose, I've been getting very good support.

GTPSpeed,

I am a little confused on your attack on a lot of these hosting companies. It appears as though you have nothing but criticism when you talk about these companies. I have been reading up on some threads and I see your name often when commenting on these companies.
I also noticed another thread:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showt...=&threadid=8435
which I believe you took inappropriate action against a company because you are so dissatisfied. If you are so dissatisfied, why do you remain with these companies? Do you have anything "good" to say about _any_ company? In no way do I wish to offend you, but I find your comments uncalled for and immature. I believe the best posts are those that offer constructive criticism and complements to the sites which DO offer good services. I in no way mean this to be offensive, just curious.

First - let me give my recommendations - ecui.com and wizardshosting.com have been great, they have provided great support, and would recommend that anyone give them a try. Ecui.com for windows based hosting and wizardshosting for unix.

I can agree with you that a lot of my posts have been negative, which is unfortunate, because it reflects 80% of what I have experienced over the last couple years. I think more people should share their experiences. Of course, you are also entitled to your opinion regarding the Shanje situation. The reason I stay with some of these companies because 1. they were good at one time and maybe they will be again, you won't really know unless you stay with them and 2. I get tired of trying to find new hosts and updating of the nameserver for all of the domains, updating the scripts, etc, so I would rather do whatever I can to rectify the situation for myself and others.

I run two businesses, and the key reason for their success has been because I provide the highest level of customer service. If a company has testimonials on their website about their great service, or they claim to provide email support, that is what I expect, and what you should demand. Perhaps you are at a time in your life when you are just willing to move on, and you do not try to do anything to fix the problem. But I feel that is not socially responsible, the problem is still there, and the only thing you are doing is leaving it for another person to deal with. If everyone did that, nothing would be ever be fixed. Also, in regards to Shanje, I feel that Free Speech rules on the internet, and if we don't continue to exercise it, it will be taken away.

If I only put - "don't go with cosmotek or shanje" - do you consider that constructive? If you are going to share an opinion, I think you have to be able to justify it, otherwise, it's worthless. All of my posts have included the background of the situation, and I did not take any action against Shanje until I had MONTHS of no service, how can you be more reasonable that that? I feel that I have been more than fair in every situation.

I think you and I just take different approaches, your's being more passive and mine being more aggressive. I have just found that being passive doesn't solve anything for me. The lengths that I am willing to go to, to solve my problems, may scare you or make you wonder if I am sane, but I don't do anything halfway, and I don't let anything get in my way.

I hope that clears things up for you and anyone else who may be wondering.

I think you should get a job instead of sitting at home all day and downgrading most hosting companies!

Your "business" obviously isn't doing very well since all you do is write negative commetns about hosting companies all day long, to many hosting forums!

So quit teh "business" and writing forum world, and get a job...maybe McDonalds would be good !!

Wow, an unbiased, professional, mature post from a cosmotek pusher. Big surprise. Must be a cosmotek reseller, oh wait, he is. His posts must only consist of "get cosmotek", oh wait, they do. What was the first thing Cosmotek got online? Billing. nuff said

I forgot to mention - www.ecui.com and www.wizardshosting.com - great hosts, great support, courteous service, and no attitudes.

And if I'm happy, you know they are good, because I will find anything to complain about. Like support not being available from Dec - Mar. I'm sooooo demanding.

Now now... let's keep things under control.

I believe Jasondell is just voicing his "aggressive" opinion as well.

GTPSpeed, I understand what you seek to accomplish, but in outright barrating the hosting providers with constant negative criticism, it also poses a threat to the hosting company's ability to improve, as they are then forced to answer to your remarks and to growing customer concerns. This in turn will actually worsen your level of service that you once enjoyed, and put you in no better a position.

I do agree that constructive criticism is the key to improving a company's level of service, but there is a difference between constructive and "aggressive" critisism.

You're obviously an advocate for customer service and technical support, but what other features do you look for, and where have you found these features/benefits.

for windows hosting:
control panel, asp, php, odbc, ms sql, mysql is a plus

for unix:
control panel, php, multiple mysql databases

I use:

www.ecui.com for mission critical sites
*phone support, dedicated reseller support, medium server/connection speed, solid up time, very knowledgable staff, $12 domain name registration, easy to use domain name manager
=asp,php,odbc,ms sql+more

www.centralinfo.net for semi-critical sites
*control panel, lots of reseller controls, very reasonable pricing, medium server/connection speed, support forums, great billing system
=asp,php,odbc+more

www.cosmotek.net for misc
*awesome control panel (the best), very fast server/connection speed, create multiple ftp accounts, support forums
=asp,php,odbc+more

www.shanje.net for the single page sites
*add/remove domains via control panel with no fees, $25 or $50 /mo unlimited domains, unlimited email, unlimited ftp
=asp,odbc + more

www.wizardshosting.com for php+mysql sites
*control panel, 10 mysql databases, great support, support forums
=php,mysql

the connection speeds are only my impression of how fast different pages load, I haven't done any real testing, but after looking at the same sites on different servers, you can get a feel for how fast the sum of their system is, and it may only be from my location, but that's enough for me.

who do you use and why?

I just wanted to take a look for myself to see what kind of features each of these sites offered, and compare.
Obviously it is not possible to compare level of service since that is through experience only, and I have not tried many services as you have.

One thing I could at least attempt to compare is the control panel. The only site I could see a demo on was cosmotek to see what features it had, but I couldn't see the other sites' control panels. Do all the other control panels have all those features? You mentioned centralinfo.net had lots of reseller controls. What kind of controls do they have? Their site did not have much information on the actual service, other than saying you get a site without their label on it. I noticed on other posts that you highly recommend this company.

Now, you mentioned these companies' features. How would you rate them on support "lately". I know that every webhosting company has their ups and downs, and I saw a few of your posts about some of these companies in the past. I guess if you're not having to write to support, that's a good sign :D .

I have a reseller account with Cosmotek for over a month and their support seems to be okay. They even went to the extent of installing a ODBC driver I needed not originally installed on their server.
