Mekhu 10-24-2002, 06:52 PM The only avenue we've explored was buying a spot in an email newsletter that went out to Search Engine optimization freaks :) I think they have 11,000 users... we paid about $109 USD for one placement and received something like 2 referrals. Was a lot less than we anticipated, but it will generate more than $109! But, this may not be economically feasible and therefore not the best for your situation. Every host has a different level of what quality traffic is open to them & it depends on 2 factors - How well you convert prospects into sales - How long you keep customers before they move on These 2 factors directly impact the level of "best paid advertising" you can buy without losing money. For example - if you convert a very low amount of quality prospects into sales & then the ones you do convert leave after 6 months - then your cost to aquire a customer is very high & your revenue will not cover that cost. If the converse is true then your cost to obtain a customer is lower & you retain them long enough to cover that cost = you can buy more quality prospects at a higher price. The best quality prospects are the most expensive - Overture, Adwords & also from targeted well known resources like WebHostDir, HostIndex etc So the question should not be - what is the best advertising but what quality of prospect can you afford based off the performance of your business. Comparing advertising results host to host is like comparing apples to oranges. Hope that helps a little ChickenSteak 10-25-2002, 10:37 PM Local Ads Such as flyers, and other little nifty grifty things that AOL, sends out etc, and timewarnercable, etc. Perhaps send out to a population localy 250,000 CD's that inside have a intro that pops up explaining what you do, what it can be used, for etc. Web Hosting Stuff 10-28-2002, 07:27 AM Track all your campaigns with cookies and you'll soon know which ones perform best : ) |
