View Full Version : BurstNET, READ THIS!!
TonyGM 04-11-2001, 08:43 PM I have been browsing all of the bad stuff about burst.net on this board, and theres alot that I think...
For one thing, i think that burst is a great company, in fact the best company I have ever come in contact with.
I believe that it may be partialy VDI.net's fault re. all the slow times they have had.
Also, i do think they fu--ed up by letting Ben go. Ben was awsome, and he was the guy who carried out the 24/7 support thing. but i do not think any less of their company as it is.
On a final thing, who the hell would get the nerve to make fun of sean, why don't you try putting up with all this bull**** on these boards, like he does, and maintaining a great company...?
try that on for size.
one regret i do have is that i don't have a middle finger icon to flip off all the impacient ass holes on this board haha!!
edude 04-11-2001, 09:16 PM Hi,

I have one question. How many people that have actually replied to these Burst.net posts have actually done buisness with them? Mhmm...
edude 04-11-2001, 09:56 PM The comment above was a joke :) calm down... Breath in... Breath out... it was quite "wierd" that he signed up and his first post was regarding this matter, thats all.
Chicken 04-11-2001, 10:03 PM Well I was, but I don't bash hosts as much as some do (here, there, everywhere). Best I can figure it (and I've said this before), is that at one time Burst was extremely popular on Scriptkeeper (and maybe other boards, I forget), ndthn VDI had some issues, and they got flak for it. Ever since, the boards have not been as kind to Burst.
The rest, you'll have to read about from people who use their service.
webfors 04-11-2001, 10:58 PM Nice first post Tony!

I guess this is your first and last post :)
BurstNET 04-12-2001, 01:14 AM TonyG: Thank you for the kinds words...whomever you are. If possible, please post something about yourself/your site, so that forum visitors know that you are real..and not one of us :-) You obviously are someone we come in contact with alot, for you know Ben is no longer with our company. We had to let him go due to reliability issues, and other personal problems. We are trying to maintain the best possible support staff, and unfortunately not everyone we hire lives up to expectations. We've been interviewing replacements for some time now, so his slot will be filled shorty. In the meantime, other staff members, including myself, and even our CEO, have been filling in.
And yes, I do put up with alot of garbage on the boards, and I will admit I get a little heated sometimes, but I have been doing my best to not over-react lately. It is just very hard to stand by and watch derogatory statements made about
a company myself and others have worked long and hard to build with the most honorable intentions. BurstNET is not 100% perfect, but we are trying hard to provide the best possible service for the large clientele base we have. It used to be alot easier when we knew every client by name, but the larger you get, the harder it becomes to satisfy everyone. If you have a small host with 100 sites and one complaint, that is a 1% complaint margin...and you would think nothing of it you saw one bad post...BurstNET hosts approx 5000 sites...at the same 1% that that would be 50 complaints...and it looks like alot when you see all these posts...but in size comparison it is really not many. Of course this is just an example...we just picked these figures to make our point, and we strive to have the least amount of promblems as possible. Many of you other hosts will get to that point, and understand the from your growth pains what we have experienced.
We also get alot of slack from competitors...
Why? It's just normal to pick on the big guy...
BurstNET is probably one of the lergest hosts to frequent the forums, and actively participate...(seeing that the large ones do not..Verio, DN, RackSpace,etc...), so naturally the competitive nature is to try and take business away from us.
Yes, BurstNET took a huge beating from the VDI problems thru-out history. The VDI based hosts now don't take as much heat...for the public knows about VDI now..and realize what is going on behind the scences. BurstNET has been with VDI pretty much since the beginning of time, and no one even heard of them back then. When VDI had their initial problems (something like 24 hours downtime) back in the summer of 1999, (qwest issue) BurstNET took alot of the heat, and the public was like "VDI Who?". Our reputation started to drop very quickly, due to very little fault of our own (Not that the data center we choose is not our responsibility). Eventually VDI got their act together, and we had two pretty decent years of service from them...until recently with the past two months connectivity problems. We are just now finally starting to gain back the reputation we once had, by extra hard work, and some spectacular employees we hired.
With the opening of the new BurstNET Data Center this month, we hope to spawn a new level of service for our clientele base. We are even going as far as to install remote powering reboot equipment on every dedicated/co-lo server in our facility, so clientele can do hard reboots themselves.
Anyways, that is enough ranting for now..
Thanx for the post TonyGM....I look forward to finding out who you are!
