That was a great war movie, but now I am doing a project on it for class, I need to gather all the info on it, and I do know we have some excellent history buffs here. So if you could help a student in need???
I could only find a few about the movie it self.
Thanks
Chris

I need a few sites, that talk about it as the real story. Books, movies, sites anything.

The book from which the movie was taken was written by Paul Brickhill, a pilot who was shot down over Tunisia and served time as a POW in Stalag Luft III, from which the escape was made. Searching on "Stalag Luft III" and "Paul Brickhill," as well as on "The Great Escape," should turn up plenty of information.

you wont imagine how close it really was. They really built a plane, but never got to fly it. but then years later they find the original draft of it, and well build it from the materials they had, they said it flew the as if it was really a bird.
