Hello,

I am looking for something to make a signup script for www.markedoffhosting.com in PHP or CGI (preferable PHP). The script needs to work as follows.

1. Multipule input textboxes and dropdown menus.
2. The strings in these input boxes and dropdown menus should be checked by the script. For example, checking to see if the user entered 2 different passwords, checking for a valid email, etc.
3. IF the user entered all of the strings corrently the form would send the results to- sales@markedoffhosting.com.
4. Then simply redirect the user to paypal.com (i will change this myself).

That is how I need the script to work. If you are interested in doing this, I will send the form I want programmed. This script needs to be finished and ready for upload within 2 days.

I will pay $5.50 to the person that could program this to the way I mensioned above and within *2 days* (I need this urgently).

Thank you and please post if you have any questions/comments.

Well gee. I had considered trying to clear some time up for this (since it isn't very complicated), but not for $5.50 lol.

For $5.50? Is the guy who accepted a Monkey, or maybe Mexican?

Its just a simple mail script that anyone with expirence could make in an hour- no big deal. I am probably going to give the guy a couple extra bucks for this work. Thank anyways though.

Nothing is urgent about this thread at less than six bucks, oh gee that's awfully generous of you to offer "a couple extra bucks"... man, your thread, AND YOUR REQUEST is halarious

I knew people would be saying things about this thread. Look if you don't want to do it then don't discourage people who do.

Thanks, man.

If you don't want/like the job don't discourage others from getting it, as I have said before.

Besides the job he asked to get done is quite a simple one. I mean, what's hard about submitting a form via email and redirecting the user?

Is not what he is referring to, if you want to work for 2.50 an hour, go for it. Requesting it on the board and expecting a serious reply is a bit rediculous.

Actually if you are an expirenced PHP programmer you could do this sooner then an hour.

Besides I am looking for someone that enjoys what they do.

Enjoying your work, and being able to feed yourself is two entirely different things, but then you're asking for programming for peanuts, so I get your angle.

If you're an experienced programmer you're not payed 5 an hour for an hour's work, you're paid 25 to 75 and up an hour for ANYTHING.

I personally think that anyone who can't even pay minimum wages shouldn't pretend to be web hosts and running a business and expect people to trust their site's content and services to someone that is one penny away from going out of business, but that's just my personal opinion and how I see posts like this.

However, albeit insulting to anyone to see, it is true that if people aren't interested, that's all there is to it. It looks like a (literally) 1 (one) minute job by his request, so it's not too bad per-minute (this doesn't include any specifics or outlines of it or how much you'll have to deal with the requester's specifications, so it'll be more time anyway. Not to mention the time to explain how to use the code, set it up or having to ask for login information and setting it up for them. Not that this would be a big deal).

I still can't help thinking of what I posted above about this sort of request though. This is why people charge per-hour or per-project and have a 'minimum' of 30 minutes or an hour. It might sound like a lot of little scripts and hacks are fine and can add up, but as I said, the time to just read the specifics of what they want, deal with them saying "No, that's no right, I wanted this bigger or different and I don't know how" and it costs.

Personally, I don't know why people bother and that one request for a project or task for such a cheap price probably does damage to anyone that might have otherwise considered them to do hosting. If this isn't a host requesting this, then disregard those comments and the one's above, but please don't call it a business. This is why people are so "unsure" of all the real businesses out there and why there's so much controversy about it all. Just my view, mind you.

I totally see your point as a web designer/programmer. However you have too see my point of view also I am trying to put food on the table just like you I can't go paying people top prices because I don't not have that kind of money to go around. In other words I am looking for a simple yet well programmed piece of code from the smallest amount of cost. I hope you understand what I am saying...

P.S. I already have it worked out, thank you anyways.

$5.50 ? Oh.. man you ..it's the funniest message I have ever seen. You should have asked people doing it free instead of offering $5.50....;)
