I want to offer Dell dedicated servers, and I’m wondering how they handle dedicated hosting companies? Do you lease the servers from them and if a customer cancels before the end of the lease, do you return the box to Dell?
How do they work volume discounts? Do they knock a flat rate off of their website prices?
Any information would be appreciated...
You might want to try and call their sales department. I think they will be able to best answer your question ;)

I called sales, and the fool escalated me to some corporate sales guy that hasn't called me in two weeks! :)
Plus, you know that sales people will [expletive deleted] on your head and tell you it's raining, I want REAL information from people who have done it!
:D

Idgaf... if you wish to offer dell servers to your clients then you yourself have to either buy or lease them. Past that if they sell or not is your responsibility... you can't just lease them for a bit and return them to dell if it doesn't work out... afriad the world just doesn't work like that.

I believe they have 24, 36 and 48 month leases.

1. DFS (Dell Financial Services) is a real pain to work with! We have only a few items with them and they always send out wrong bills.
2. If you lease from Dell, you are responsible for the whole lease. Even if you customer backs out in 1 week.
3. Dell will only lease you a few servers, they don't like to take large risks on any one company.
4. If you purchase > $100,000 in servers per month, you can get pretty nice discounts and can become a premier partner.
Hope that helps :)

DFA Acceptance is very difficult to deal with, we have multiple and open lease lines with them, but, they are very willing to work with hosting companies.
A suggestion that I can offer is that if mention you are considering and of thier competitiors they will act much faster.
Dell can also be very competitive on prices, should you need any help with this you are welcome to PM us and we could get you a contact over there.
We no longer deal with Dell becuase of how difficult DFS can be.. Let me clarify, it's very easy to get leases from them, however, they are notorious for applying payments wrong and taking weeks to do so.....
