Anyone have any experience or feedback about CT's NT and Linux panels?

for NT

for Linux

Any features you think are essential or even nice to have that are missing?

Anyone aware of an Alabanza like Backend that does both NT and LINUX, billing, signups etc ?

Chris,

Check out the thread above this one "CBMS". It's Linux only (and will probably be UNIX only for the conceivable future).

However, it does handle both billing, signups (as well as support and server administration). Unlike Alabanza, it will _not_ be limited to their network. (comments about Alabanzas network are being tastefully muted ;-)

Personally, I think Communitech's control panel (PCP 4.0) is by far the best control panel available. I have always loved their PCP (ever since v2.0) and they continue to impress me each time they release a new version.

It's such a shame that certain other aspects of their services are lacking... Oh well. Nobody's perfect I suppose. ;)

I agree with Matt. Sometimes I don't undertand people who say that CPanel 3 is the best Control Panel out there. Its menu structures are badly organized, the images load slowly because they are not cacheable (no Last-Modified header), and some of the scripts give sloppy output (for example, look at the bandwidth usage report page).

PCP 4.0 is by far more intuitive and has many more features. Unfortunately Communitech.Net is not among the best virtual webhosts. Their policy is to turn off 'high resource' sites without notification. I've had my friend's UBB Perl script killed and deactivated several times. Also, their shell is a failed, annoying attempt to restrict users and provide some 'security'.

I was with communitech for a year just messing around with starting my business and reading their forums.

.....

WOW

They do have a great control panel I will give them that. However thats about all they have. ha ha. Which goes to prove a good looking control panel doesnt mean a good hosting company.
