Welcome bok, now a GoDaddy employee (suddenly)

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=574855#post574855

Actually, I'm more than happy to have a GoDaddy.com insider here (even when it's kind of unofficial). As a matter of fact, I do have quite a number of domain names over there. :D

Here too.

Assuming he is truly from Godaddy, I have no reason to disbeleive it at this point.

i did mention in that other post that I had figured they were paying for 2 year registrations for the *.us and if people didn't keep it for that second year then GoDaddy wouldjust resell it.

Makes sense, with the 'used domain store' they have, which Bok I have to say is odd that GD would charge so much yearly for domains that are pretty crappy :crap:.

You can tell that to Mr Parsons, if you want. :)

Nameslave, I noticed you have your domain 'nameslave.com' for sale on your webpage for 2k$, what will you use if you sell it? :)

Well, if someone actually sends me $2k right away, I'm gonna metamorphose into another ID, like harshmistress.com or hongcouver.com, maybe. ;)

Yeah, right. He doesn't post like I would imagine Bob would.

He sounds, for lack of a better word, younger.

Just go by the rule that they are all dogs, and you will be fine my friend. :)

Well, it's already been established that the domains in the used domain store are those that are confiscated from credit card fraud and such. Phone support confirmed that to one of us users.

Bok, what happens if someone buys one of the domains for the expensive rates for one year and tries to transfer it away? is it still in GD's name or what is stopping the transfer?

You must purchase the domain name for its allotted registration period at which point policy states a transfer of ownership (from us to you) requires the domain to be at GD for 60 days. After that you may do what you choose.

Crap. So if the domain is a $45/year one, prepaid for 10 years - then the customer has to pay for it for 10 years in advance?

You should ask Mr Parson's why he would charge so much for crappy domains that he doesn't want? :)

Or are you just testing the setup so you are all ready to sell those .US domains you will have available after they aren't renewed for year 2?

Just wanted to tell anyone that doubts Bok's being a Godaddy employee, do know that Bok and I have communicated back and forth via email and his Godaddy email address is a valid one.

At first I assumed that maybe Bok was just a slight nickname of Bob, of Bob Parsons fame - but his name is actually Brad.

Don't ask, I will not give out his email address or any other info. Just note that I'm convinced we have a Godaddy rep here now! :D

Well, one of the theories is that there are actually 2 (TWO) snipers?

Are you saying Bob and Bok are "sniping" for domain registrations? :D

To continue the OT -

I doubt there are two snipers, but I am surprised there aren't the usual copycat'ers out there following suit.

To Bok,

Will GoDaddy increase their retail prices for domains, at least for the new buyers?

WildCard

What makes you say that? They are at $9, why would they raise them? If anything, I would think they are going to raise the *.us prices soon as the registry raises their pricing again.

No, unless Verisign GRS raises their prices- we will not
