Greetings all,

Our company has decided to start adverising a bit and we are now considering cj.com

Their prices are a little steep (about $1.5K just to get started), so I was wondering if they are worth it? How many affiliates can we expect during the first month? Does anyone uses them already, and if so, were the results cost-affective? WHat would be the best pay rate (per-click, per-sale, etc. and how much)?

Thanks,
Boris

I am extremely interested in this as well. We also looked at icomissions and affiliateshop and are doing a cost/benefit analysis. Any ideas?

If think Host still posted here you could ask them since they run a program on CJ. Try emailing him.

I've always wondered about this too. CJ.com just changed their rules a bit, and I've noticed many merchants drop out in the last month or so. CJ.com reports 40 merchants in the "Web Hosting" category, although some of those are hosting indexes (like webhostdir.com).

Chris,

I've seen the same thing. I have an account there (to make money, not sell the site), but haven't used it. I did go as far as selecting about 20-30 products I was interested in using. In under 12 months I think half of the programs have dropped out. It's a very expensive option, but they are the biggest I suppose. If you can afford them, it might be worthwhile looking at other ad options.

Altough we get a lot of bannerviews and clicks through cj.com, the quality of these visitors is often quite low.

You must also be aware of the fact that you will face a lot of fraudulent attempts. People ordering with stolen credit cards and trying to get your commision.

I would suggest spending your money somewhere else.

I never thought about the fraudulent attempts. Is there any way to stop it?

CJ gives you the change to reverse the commision, but you must do so before the affiliate gets paid.
You simply can't catch all fraudulent orders as some people are able to cover it up quite good.
