I uploaded some HTML files 3 hours ago, try to login now and the FTP ptogram just hangs:
STATUS:> Connecting to 216.40.xxx.41
STATUS:> Connecting to 216.40.xxx.41 (ip = 216.40.xxx.41)
STATUS:> Socket connected. Waiting for welcome message...
What could cause this? I tried a rebott with no success.

Syanet, how did you solved this problem? Would you like to contribute?
P.S: Sorry moderators for raising this dead thread, but I need a solution to the problem.

Usually it is a bad reverse look up. First make sure you have good nameservers set up in your cobalt configuration. Next make sure your IP address of your modem/cable modem/Internet connection has a reverse. If it doesn't, on your raq in the /etc/hosts file put the following
you.ip.goes.here hostname hostname.domain.tld
this will speed up the reverse look up and do away with the "connection hang."

Actually, the thing is same for all my clients.
Actually, I do have good nameservers running. Maybe you can give yourself a try.
