View Full Version : Web Hosting Price Plans
ryanbarclay 10-16-2002, 02:57 AM Hello,
I am the CEO of RBFTP Networks. RBFTP Networks is an up and coming professional web hosting provider. I have recently put together some price plans for hosting, and was wondering whether you thought the prices were reasonable. Please visit:
http://rbftp.org/forumania/maniaboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19
And let me know if the prices are reasonable or not and what features I could provide that are not included.
Your help would be appreciated.

RBFTP Networks, CEO

Wrong forum
Andrew 10-16-2002, 02:59 AM 1) This is against forum rules sorry to say...
2) Is ARIN aware that you're giving out IPs for no reason?
:)
ryanbarclay 10-16-2002, 10:46 AM Oh, sorry I did not know you had rules on content like that.
As we are in the UK, RIPE are aware that we provide an IP address for each one hosted, and approve of that.
Prince 10-16-2002, 11:34 AM what's the currency translation?
In US dollar amount I would say your prices are a bit high.

Re: BUTLINS PEOPLE SEARCH FOR SARAH by Ryan Barclay (Member 77267) on 9-May-02
Well, I saw her there, she did't work there, she was about 14 (Same age as me). PLS HELP ME!!
ryangeeza@aol.com is your email? this is the email used to register your domain RBFTP.ORG?
but then again, I sincerely apologize if im wrong;)
Akash 10-16-2002, 12:23 PM Oh, sorry I did not know you had rules on content like that.

;)
What happens when your customer says "Whoops, I didn't know I couldn't upload warez to your servers!"....do you think you should kick them off your server for not reading your TOS (rules)?
ryanbarclay 10-16-2002, 12:35 PM Lol, Oh my god!
I know exactly who did that. It was one of my friends, I let him use my 'Knowhere' username/pw and my name! He was searching for someone, and yes he is 14 but very 'grown-up' for his age, I must add. He does not have the internet, so I allow him to come over and use mine. And yes, I registered my domain and Knowhere account with ryangeeza@aol.com. Infact, I need to update my e-mail address record for my domain... I'll do that now :) For your information, I am 28
ryanbarclay 10-16-2002, 12:41 PM In my opinion, if a paid customer uploads warez, they take complete responsability. We have no rules against it and we are not for it. After all, the only reason we have a web hosting company is to earn money! If the laws require me to have rules on warez, I will implement them. If not, I won't. By the way, I have not started hosting yet. When I do, I will check the laws and set up disclaimers, terms... etc.:)

very gutsy....
in red:
check with your upstream provider to see if you meet their policies.
also check with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies...ask them specifically if pirated software is illegal. Let us know what they say...
in blue: I thought it was to provide a service?...webhosting won't make you a millionaire (or even a hundredaire) overnight
ryanbarclay 10-16-2002, 12:48 PM Like I said, I personally have no rules against it, BUT when I am required to place terms, rules... etc on it, I will do so.

Oh I C, well..like i said, if im wrong, i apologize.
but you should give your lil friend a spank too..because he was claiming to be you on that post.
I am searching for a girl called Sarah (I don't know her second name). She would of just returned from MineHead Butlins. My name is Ryan, and I was the boy that always stared at her, because she was absolutly gorgeous. I feel so emotional about her, please help me find her. (pic is inserted) So, if you are Sarah, or know her, please contact me: email: ryangeeza@aol.com AIM: ryangeeza Phone: 07947857403 :D
ryanbarclay 10-16-2002, 01:20 PM Yes, I can understand why he did that; it would be a bit weired if the account was registered as Ryan Barclay, and he posted As Paul... wouldn't it? :)
Akash 10-16-2002, 01:35 PM ya you're right it would be weird
but don't you think it's a little weird for a 28 year old man to have a friend that is half his age??
ryanbarclay 10-16-2002, 01:38 PM It's my neighbours son.
Akash 10-16-2002, 01:45 PM ah ok, that clears it up...
but to answer your orignal question...personally, i'd expect to be able to use all the features on all your plans. IOW, what if I need ASP, but only 50MB of space? Why should I spend money on your highest plan and then end up not using all that space/bandwidth?
ryanbarclay 10-16-2002, 01:50 PM If you have a look at http://rbftp.org now, you will notice that custom price plans are availible. We aim to provide a personal level of service.
