Hello,

I have one customer when we enter the domain name in the browser ,it prompted for username and password.I have checked on the folder permission and ensure the Anonymous access is enabled in IIS but the "prompt"is stiil there.I even try to point other domain to this domain path and the domain works fine without any password.I deleted the domain in IIS and recreate but no luck.


Any recommendation?

goto the website properties , click on the 'Directory Security' tab, then click the edit button for anomymous access and make sure anonymous access is enabled and the user matches the directiry permissions you have set.

I have the exact same problem and I have tryed to re-install IIS several times to no avail. If anyone has any info that can help it would be much appreciated.
