Can't new members have PM notification set to on when they register.
If they decide they don't like it; they can turn it off.

Okay. That's my suggestion. Is it fixed yet?

Hey, I agree with that. We once had a user interested in our service. We emailed and PMed but nothing happened. So there was no way to contact the person.

Anyway, it is also nice to turn mail on by default. If a user don't want to receive email, he can always turn it off.

I don't know if others agree. But, this is just my suggestion. Do consider. Thanks for bringing this up Dennis.

And Oh by the way (as a side note), I recommended you to be the "escrow" of WHT in another thread.

(MODS: Feel free to edit this out if it is inappropriate. Thank you.)

You mean the popup, or some type of email notification of PM's?

When they register.

Look for yourself :stickout

Log out. And then go to register (NOTE: Do Not Complete The Registration Process). Both PM notifications are set to off. And, when you PM someone when they don't get notified, you don't get notified that they didn't get notified.

wow . . . that just hurt my head. :(

Hi just want to check. Is this solved?

If not, this rule is not relevant:

"Participants may not instruct users to check your e-mail, check your PM, or inform them that they've got mail or a new PM, or any variant thereof. This rule is also applicable in the advertising forums."

Thank you.

that rule has nothing to do with the PM notification option as people will still say "check your PM" or something of that sort....

quite right, but I have the urge to post on the thread "check your PM" especially if I know that PM's may not be turned on or no popup is working to alert user that there is a PM, etc. ...

Get rid of the 'urge'. The two are not related in any way.
