I went to their site. Clicked on "contact real person". Got a email form from Athenet.net (whoever these folks are). No answer after more than 24 hours.

Left a message on their phone. No answer after 24 hours.

I think they lost my business already.

May be web hosting companies should be accredited by an independent accreditation board. "Caveat Emptor" is simply not good enough when it comes to a fairly important business decision.

If you do a WHOIS lookup (http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois?STRING=telaweb.com) on Telaweb.com you'll see that they appear to be owned by Athenet.com.

An independent accreditation board might sound good, but looking into my crystal ball I see big accreditation fees which will adversely impact small hosting companies (a see a nasty quarterly "per-website-hosted" fee), and I'm sure that companies like *****.com will have no problem getting accredited.

The best way to find a good host is through word of mouth, and that's why boards like this one are so valuable.

Gif stay the F*** away from them! They're a scam... I was with them a while ago and they were the crappiest host I'd ever saw! My site was up and down almost daily. They never answered tech support. Heck my site was on their recent client list the entire time I was with them and even 2 months after I left!

I'd love to go on and on but I won't bother...
