A client has just asked me to delete one of his sites - which I did using the Control Panel.
He has just phoned to tell me that he asked me to delete the 'WRONG SITE!!' (plonker).
He also tells me that apart from the original backup he took 12 months ago he doesn't have a more recent one.
Is there any hope of recovering these files - a sort of recylce bin prehaps?

Unless you provide some kind of backup system such as raqbackup.sh then theres no way to restore the lost files.

It is not a windows like box with an undelete options. So gone is gone.
You were asked if you were sure right ??? (little windows like)

That is why you don't delete, you disable. Then you wait a week or two. If they don't come back screaming "NO, I made a mistake!" then you delete it.

Hmmmmm.....
I didn't realize the "disable before delete" bit would be a revelation......I thought it was common sense........

Never ever presume that a client knows what they are doing. They are always right, of course, but it's best to be safe :D

Ok, so my method works for the whole "Disable, wait 2 weeks, then if YOU don't go 'NOOOO, I MADE A MISTAKE' then delete it" bit too.
