Greetings,
I am looking for an affordable (cheap?) host for a single site. By that I mean no more than $5/month. I am realistic, however, as you can tell by my no-frills requirements:
* > 95% uptime
* > 20 megs space
* > 1 gig transfer
* simple control panel
Any suggestions? Though I would accept a host contacting me directly, I much prefer that people simply recommend me a host.

95% uptime, I think I would worry if a host had this. You should be looking for 99% >

$49 a year.
Do a "Search" up top and you will find good things about www.Dot5Hosting.com and www.DixieSys.com , both of which can give you what you need for under $5 per month, with excellent support and I would hope much better than 95% uptime. For Dot5, you would probably need to create a "Custom" plan with their custom plan calculator.
