Do you see in the quote above how they try to "clarify" what they mean by unlimited?

So therefore, unlimited = less that 50k visitors per day.

I'm glad I finally know what the real value of "unlimited" is.

hhmmm 50k visitors a day.. lol even if you had 10k visitors a day would use a hella lot of bandwidth. So my question is exactly what do they want you to pay for? hard drive space? or should that be free to. Im sorry but that article is pathetic and written by a true n00b. reguardless of weather it was writtin by a male of female.

Well, from what I hear, there is a very special land where bandwidth is free and they make unlimited capacity hard drives. I've never been there but it must exist. Certainly these people would sell something that isn't really there. Or would they?

Just before anyone starts bashing this article heavilly (especially the bit about it being written by a woman), if you read right to the end there's some small print which says where the article actually came from.

This was not written by dezigningwomen.com but some other site! Sure, they are displaying it, but you have to keep in mind that the person who made the decision to diplay it may well be like the many millions of people around the world who sadly beleive everything they read.

My nickname is Conned because I have been scammed continuously and constantly by Web Hosters. That is why I am a devil throwing fire..... ( rage !!!! .... )

The "Unlimited Bandwidht" is bull****, they erase you when you are consuming a certain amount. And they do it without warning or any email before or after your deletion.

I have been in the most beautiful pages in the World : Web Hosters that promise 50 or 100 domain names ( websites ) at a cheap monthly price, 25G or 50G monthly of bandwidth. With offices in the most important cities of the world and Super Backbone Networks.

I have signed up, and everything is lies and bull****, because my domain names fail constantly ( down time ) and they only provide random statistics ( every 15 days if you are lucky ). They don't answer my emails.

Abraham was looking for only 10 just men to save Sodoma and Gomorrha. I am looking for a single honest web hoster for big bandwidths and many domain names.

Any idea ?????

Sorry to hear about your problems conned :( It's unfortunate when these things happen but sadly, as in every industry, there's the good, the bad and the plain rotten.

Browsing these forums for a few days should give you the info you need. There are *many* very reputable hosts who participate on WHT. When you've narrowed down the field to a couple of them, ask for opinions.

Even try placing a request in the "web hosting requests" forum. Say exactly what you need, not just bandwidth but everything you require. See what offers come in, do a search on the company to find out what others have to say about them and then if you still need to, ask for opinions on them :)

Thanks for taking the trouble to answer my post. I just discovered this excellent place Webhostingtalk.com and I feel elated that I am going to get help for the future in my web hosting needs, and forum hosting provider needs.

Right now I am happy with my host provider from Canada. But everything that I said about being "conned" or "scammed" by four Web Hosters is true. And my opinion about "Unlimited Bandwidth" is supported by my history. They cut you when you reach a certain unannounced limit and they do that in the most hateful manner without any emails before and after the deletion.

That is why I posted to prevent others from believing in "Unlimited Transfers". I shall be more optimistic in the future but also more wary of promises.

I plan to set up forums for my sites lately and that is why I am here. Learning what a forum is. I will need an excellent Forum Provider in the future, to set up a forum like this. Any ideas ???

I am safe now in web hosting ( for the moment ) thanks to some Canadians

Yup, you've learned the hard way as sadly most people do that there is no such thing as unlimited. Hosts who offer it almost always put small print in their terms of service that restricts you. From my point of view, they are simply lying.

Most hosts should be able to handle a forum for you, though this will depend largely on how busy your forum/site is. If it's a very busy one, you would probably need to look at a dedicated server so It's best to ask the prospective host what will happen if your site becomes busy - will they just suspend your account without warning etc.. get that info upfront so you *know where you stand*. :)

I will need forums in the distant future and they should be wonderful forums like this one, like the Amazon one. Something like what hostBoard.com or EZBoard.com provide....

I have the idea that forums have to be paid only to specialized firms in those topics. I shouldn't tamper with the weak forums of web hosters, but only with the specialists in that branch of computing.....

Any ideas or judgemente of this topic of Forum Providers ????

Other than the ones you have mentioned I'm not familiar with any others. A search of WHT may reveal some that I'm not aware of though :)
