Hello,

I have a problem with 4webspace.com and they don't reply to my eMails anymore.

-
On 24 January 2001 I ordered a RAQ 3 @ 99$ per month
and I requested the following upgrades :
- 128 Mb RAM upgrade, ordered the 25 January 2001 @ $111
- 14 IP adresses ordered the 25 January 2001 @ $5

==> that's $215

On 30 January 2001 I cancelled my RAQ (6 days later) due to some personal problems (I didn't use it a lot, just for script testing).

And now the problem is that they didn't refund me the money. Their AUP states the following : "Full refunds are available within the first seven (7) days excepting for violations of the Acceptable Use Policy".
You can see it here : http://www.4webspace.com/aup.html

But I never received my refund ($215 minus $25 fee stated in the AUP)

And the second problem is that they did bill me again the 13th of march 2001 ($99) although I don't have a RAQ3 since the 30th January 2001 !

Now they owe me $215 - $25 + $99 = $289 and they don't respond to my eMails anymore !

So what should I do ? I don't live in the USA so I can't do any chargeback I think.

Please help :(. Thanks !

Regardless of where you live, you should be able to dispute any credit card charge. Call up your credit card company and say you did not authorize the transaction. Sometimes they require a written & signed statement.

4WebSpace has just charged my credit card for another month of service (April), even though I cancelled my account in March. I e-mailed their billing department but they will not reply.

I'm hoping they do reply and reverse the charge otherwise I will have to exercise other means.

Please keep us updated.

You should go to their irc channel and ask...

Already tried that. They said they will not help, as it is a billing issue, and the chat channel is only for technical support.

Contact your bank or credit card issuer. Every bank/issuer I've had to deal with in my travels allows some way for their customers to dispute charges for services not received or returns made. If nothing else, that will get the attention of 4webspace when they get the advice of reversed billing.

Update: I talked to them once more on their IRC chat room and they cheerfully refunded the accidental charge on my card. I called my CC company last night and they show the refund on my account.

I have talked to them many times and they seems to be nice people. They always return emails in less than 2 hours. I dont know their policies however most of the time
set up fees, or any addition to original hosting plan is not refunded.
