View Full Version : xtrememasta
Blikje 10-12-2002, 02:42 PM Hi,
The last few days a boy called xtrememasta (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=21399) is asking the whole world for free on this forum. He even said he would commit suicide if he didn't get what he wanted (because then he couldn't succees in his business). IMHO this is just sick.
The last das he asked for a free design, free reseller account, free domain name and even for advice how to sell his reseller account. This guy shows no knowledge at all!
And still there are a few giving advice to every stupid question he asks, while someone asking the same question gets to hear this is called "Business Secret, which you should make yourself".
I have no problem with his age, but someone showing such a lack of knowledge should not be encouraged to start any business at all.
Am I the only one thinking like this?
davidb 10-12-2002, 06:29 PM no
mdrussell 10-12-2002, 06:47 PM I think he needs to realise that web hosting isn't a game. Real people, real businesses and real money is involved.

Agreed.
clocker1996 10-12-2002, 06:55 PM i also agree =]
Acronym BOY 10-12-2002, 06:58 PM I agree too. Many people think "oh its the net, its not real".
It is real, your credit is involved as well as the reputation of those you host. And it becomes very real if you get a court order delivered by state police listing a bunch of charges being pushed against you due to the fact that you didnt take it seriously and when you realized its not the simplest thing going, you decided to srop everything and run claiming "but Im just a kid".
AntiSpamHosts 10-12-2002, 07:04 PM We should excute retards like this.
Not general retards, just ones like him.
Techark 10-12-2002, 07:12 PM I just can't agree with those that think oh well what harm can he do, lets give him an account and see what he does and if someone is fooled by him and loses money it is their fault for signing up with him in the first place. TimPD comes to mind, how many thousands did that 15 year old cost people?
I hope those setting him up as a host are ready to make good on the refunds and take care of any debts and customers he may incur.
clocker1996 10-12-2002, 07:16 PM haha.
ANMMark 10-12-2002, 07:40 PM Blikje, why are you coming in here saying things you have no understanding of? Everything you said in your post was a complete lie.
He did not say he would kill himself if he didn't get what he wanted. His threat to end his life was because of jackasses like you putting him down.
It's sad to see that you have nothing better to do than to keep this crap going. I wonder who really needs the help?
sHosts 10-12-2002, 07:41 PM 'I think he needs to realise that web hosting isn't a game. Real people, real businesses and real money is involved.'
Faculty did a nice job of buying the kid an ps2 to compare which he would prefer at his age. I hope he chooses the ps2.
Hmm, I think I'm going to start working on 'WebHosting 2000' or 'WebHosting Tycoon'
[EDIT:: x-box was changed to ps2]
faculty 10-12-2002, 07:42 PM lol.. shiat.. oh I cant be bothered replying with something long.. go see the other thread, read it all, then dont reply cause it is closed :)
Synwave 10-12-2002, 07:42 PM Blikje!
You seen to only see what you want to see!
He even said he would commit suicide if he didn't get what he wanted
No he didnt say that. Read the posts properly.
If you are so sure of this why not use the "quote" button and back up your arguement!
Parms18 10-12-2002, 07:43 PM All that kid wants is success and some help getting there.
All that kid gets is failure and you laughing at him for it.

Just because you may not know something doesn't mean that you can't learn it. When you were born did you know how to recompile PHP?
faculty 10-12-2002, 07:45 PM lol.. here goes another lengthy thread..
*looks for Chicken*
phpcoder 10-12-2002, 07:46 PM Better go and get the coffee maker out...
Cancel my plans for Sunday...
And put on my boxing gloves...
:emlaugh:
ANMMark 10-12-2002, 07:47 PM lol
sHosts 10-12-2002, 07:49 PM Does this beat the record of the cyberwings discussions?
Parms18 10-12-2002, 07:50 PM I think we need to let this whole matter be.
Imagine what it would be like to have 10 pages on an extremely popular message board pop up all because of a private conversation.
Let it be.
sHosts 10-12-2002, 07:52 PM I agree. Or at least if a mod can move all the xtrememasta threads into one (that would be nice).
ANMMark 10-12-2002, 07:52 PM agreed
also keep in mind that before you start a thread just to flame someone.....make sure you got your facts straight.

It's fine to disagree with someone. Whether it's their words, or their actions, or both. But to start an entire thread, with the sole purpose of expressing your negative views of a forum's member; while encouraging others to do the same, is not what WebHostingTalk is all about.
This thread starters' efforts would have been better served had he explained himself in the threads that he makes reference to. Or even in PM land where, IMHO, he would stand a better chance of being heard.
But no thread, titled [insert member name], should be allowed to stand.

ChickenSteak 10-12-2002, 10:01 PM http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78805 There we are.
Although my opinion is at the same time people put him down they shouldn't do that but they should encourage him, although down another path to stay away from sucide.

I couldn't agree more.
net-trend 10-12-2002, 11:46 PM The thread starter was only merely stating his opinions, he did not defame him or anything, he just stated the facts he found.
Everyone has their own opinions, everyone disagrees so i really don't see what is wrong with the thread.

Although Root Beer is good hmm foam, especially Stewert's Root Beer. Mountain due is good for programming, Root Beer could have the same effect if only they added more cafeine.
interactive 10-13-2002, 12:29 AM this is turning kinda preverted waste of a thread.

Better a waste of a thread than a wasted life.
mdrussell 10-13-2002, 07:27 AM I have no problems with this person in question being succesful, I wish him the very best of luck in doing so. But he has demonstrated he isn't ready to run a hosting business yet, so he should wait - it gives him chance to mature, to learn how to recompile PHP should the need arise, and to understand more concepts of being a host.
I also agree that flaming him will not acheive anything. Friendly advice would be a lot more suitable.
Synwave 10-13-2002, 07:40 AM he has demonstrated he isn't ready to run a hosting business yet, so he should wait
I dont see how he will gain any experience by waiting!
This kid has learned alot even in the last 2 days. As long as he starts small with friends personal sites and keeps coming back to this forum he'll be fine!
Good Luck!
Blikje 10-13-2002, 09:07 AM The kid should stick to these boards a few months and will than discover what customers like and dislike. And he should save money because you can'T start a business without it.
And I don't think he only wants to host friend and familiy, this kid is going for the real world. And in that real world (even if it is on the internet) there are real people with real money who can have real problems if they lost all their money on a fake host!

So you don't think he should write a business plan and should plunge head first into the hosting market? Looks like we'll have another entry for f*ckedcompany.com before too long then...
Matt
Synwave 10-13-2002, 10:14 AM I think you are a little confused about what I said.
I said he should start small with friends personal sites, how does that translate to you that I said he should plunge head first into the hosting market?
There is a very big difference!!
dbbrock1 10-13-2002, 10:57 AM I agree with the person who started this thread. I don't think anyone was putting him down because of his age but, i do believe everyone was "flaming" him because he was jumping into a business he knew nothing about. We could tell he had no idea what he was doing by reading fezel3's thread. The kid said he would provide support for his business, with unpaid employees that "they have nothing else to do". He also stated that he knew nothing about linux.
When extrememasta first posted on this board, he was asking for a free reseller account before he said anything about suicide. After he said that, everyone offered to give him a free reseller account. I think rewarding him for threatening to kill himself was the wrong thing to do. Some people did the right thing by telling the kid that whatever problems he had now were just temporary. But others continued to make fun of him after he announced he was going to commit suicide. I tip my hat to faculty and others for helping this kid out but, offering to provide this kid with everything he needed to start a business was the wrong thing to do.
Thanks for reading, Dan
sHosts 10-13-2002, 11:23 AM No. I just felt that this 'xtreme masta' discussion is getting too out of hand.
Synwave 10-13-2002, 11:30 AM I might as well carry this over to the 4th page. You think this topic will slow down anytime now???

Are you that desperate to get your post count up?
Reptilian Feline 10-14-2002, 07:49 AM The problem with the net is that a lot of people think it is the road to fast money for free.

It used to be possible back in '98 when you gave 50 megs of space and 2 gig's of transfer for $19.95 -- and you were reselling those accounts without any real capital investment on your part and making a 40% margain.
Then "unlimited" came about! ;)
Those were the days . . .
Anyone wanna split my raman noodles today? I cannot afford the whole package for lunch!

Can you also show me a place that offers unlimited income potential . . . where I work three hours a day, can enjoy the benefits of three yachts, fourteen luxury cars, with driver, a house in Aspen and a villa in Italy . . .
All for signing up for your package . . . getting in at the ground level for only $69.95?
I want to not work hard but play hard . . . and I think vitamin sales is where it's at!
That's what I thought you meant at first . . . then I realized you meant buffet.
