This may belong in general hosting, but since it pertains to my options with using UltraDev, here goes...

I am using UltraDev on the MacOS to develop a community site, and am looking for a host that supports either ASP or JSP, and provides DSN's or JDBC/ODBC drivers, where appropriate, so that I can develop remotely from a *Mac* (important point here, since there are no client-side-only solutions for MS SQL Server 7 on a Mac, etc.).

I have a demo account with Brinkster, and also a demo account with HostPro, but before I go with either of them (ASP only), I'd like to see if there's *anyone* out there in my situation who has a host that they're happy with. I have taken a look at Intergenix and am considering them for hosting, but am not really knowledgeable about possible difficulties in dealing with JSP and a JSBC connection. I am a Unix person from experience (and like MySQL), but would like an NT host if it makes my life easier.

The community site is for those into raising dart frogs, btw -- the big thing for us is classified ads.

Try out frontserve.com , I know one of there techs knows alot about Macs and they offer good windows 2k servers

anyway, there are so many hosting companoies that offer ASP with MS SQL Server! and if you are looking to host your site with an ASP host then you need to use their MS SQL Server. those servers should have NT running ( if you want the power of ASP)
you can check the following hosting companies :

HostPro.com , Webhosting.com , Verio.com

at least those are the one I used to use for my site! and they all great!

however, if you want to use JSP with Mysql ( very powerful stuff) then you are going to have hard time finding a good hosting company!!

the one I used and I am very happy with is HostPx.com

there is another place you can check them out servlets.net, however , they use Resin Servlet Engine which is not supported by apache nor sun! and it is not fully a servlet engine although it is the Fastest one!

anyway, if you want a hosting company that will host your JSP pages then make sure they are running Tomcat 3.2.1 or above.
