For those that don't get my attempt at humour:

Safey is a grocery store or, as my Grandmother liked to call, them a market :).

CDN is taking a hit like everything else right now:

Akamai has revenue shortfalls as will most of their competitors.

The big push for CDN right now is at the broadband provider level and with large data center companies (UUNET, EXodus, Sprint). Cisco, CacheFlow and other CDN product companies are falling over themselves to get into those data centers, and the high traffic backbones.

The problem is, of course, the market is so small. There are a handful of companies who will be willing to pay to have their content "Akamaized", and 20 or 30 companies trying to break into this space.

I think you will see CDN start coming from the provider side...broadband companies such as Telociy, Earthlink, etc are going to put CDN equipment in their POPs, or at least in the same location as their DNS servers. The problem is, will site pay all these companies to CDN their site, especially when ad revenues are down.

I mean CDN is an interesting market.

Theres many ways for all of the companies to offer CDN.

Thats low end CDN, but its interesting though. I think CDN will eventually come back into the market aswell.
