Just had my first experience with Tera-byte (or bites). I must say it wasn't pleasant.

I have a dedicated on thier internal and something on thier network has gone down. It's been over an hour and NONE of my sites or clients sites are visible. After trace routing from here (in Germany) and yahoo.com we found the following.

all is good to just about here:

So I called them to let them know that they had something down. No big deal right? WRONG. They didn't give a S**T what was wrong. They didn't care that thier network was messed up.

This was after an hour of down time and now it is 15 min. after I talked to them. and it's still down. unbelievable.

Guess I'll be looking for another company to host my dedicated server.

Well, I did have a few conversations with some of the DNS admins there and if what I heard from them is the norm then my guess would be lack of a clue.

They told me I had to move away from register.com before my domains would work.

I moved 1 domain off and left the rest and it still didn't work right. As a matter of fact the SOA's are still screwed.

Live and learn though. huh?

hmm thats rediculous, not only do you have to use their name servers but now you can only register with certain companys, thats abs. rediculous, I wont be recommending their company anymore....

It's been about 2 hours now since it went down. I'm starting to think that I may have to fly over and fix it for them. s**t this is not a good thing. I just released a new flatrate internet package here in Germany and am losing business like crazy now.

OK, just so you folks know and I can vent a bit.

We are over the 3 hour mark now. And what's really sad is that I even sent them a copy of the traceroute.
