We just got a compac server at Rackshack. We had H-sphere installed to run our webhosting. What else should be done to the server? We put an SSL for the control panel. What about a backup script (he have 2 hard drives)? Virus protector? Any advise would be great.
Thanks.

What happened to their fanatical support. Shouldnt they be willing to advise you on this?

I would suggest locking your server down before actually putting it into production,.. You can get a pretty simple newbie step-by-step to installing Bastille at www.unofficial-support.com which will get you going a little bit.. As far as a backup script that is going to be something you need to find either through another H-sphere user or have someone custom make you one.. There are ones floating around on the Rackshack forums for Ensim, Plesk and Raq's but I have not seen anything for H-sphere.. If you dont find anything I suggest the Job Offers and Requests forum you can find some pretty good programmers there that work for very reasonable prices. But I would still say security is #1

Ahhhh ok,

I am really down on RackSpace today. They have an aggressive marketing campaign going out to everyones clients right now. Grrrrrr

That link doesn't seem to be working. H-sphere has a backup program built into it for the control panel. I'm looking for the rest of the server.
Thanks
