View Full Version : How effective are the ads on this page?
Kaumil 10-07-2002, 01:40 PM Hey guys,
How effective are the ads at the top of this page? I know I read them, but not in detail. How is the ROI ? Click through's. etc?
flashgear 10-07-2002, 04:44 PM which ad ??? WHT ad's rotate all the time
WildCard 10-07-2002, 05:01 PM They have ads on this page?!
Where??
-WC- :crap:
okihost 10-07-2002, 05:06 PM Look up there ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
puggy106 10-07-2002, 05:08 PM I know they got smaller but not that small:)!
WildCard 10-07-2002, 05:21 PM Yeah, I was just joking, sort of.
It's to the point that I don't notice any of them. So they are there, just not really to me. I would assume a lot of people here are like that.
Well, except that namecheap one. That sticks out. Havent gone there to visit - but not sure if it is the color or the size that gets me to see that one.

Benjamin 10-07-2002, 08:18 PM I'd be interested to know how effective WHT advertising is, too. There's a lot of people who regularly talk on these forums who advertise on the top of the pages... so hopefully someone who runs ads up there will respond to this thread.

He said "ads" not "ad". Do you are understanding?

I too dont notice them much, but then I am not in the market for a host.
www.sitepoint.com has sort of the same ad placement on their forum, you could ask there, but I'd doubt you would get an answer.
HRBrendan 10-07-2002, 10:28 PM If anything they are probably at least good for branding.

Kaumil 10-08-2002, 02:40 AM So basically its to get "popular" the ads ?

Yep, that's what they'd be most useful for.
UH-Matt 10-08-2002, 07:39 AM This place is more full of hosts than customers.. you would be better off targeting a PHP forum or something like that, also there would be less other hosts advertising in direct competition.
I simply advertise for local business - you Americans are too competative :)
ImLagging 10-08-2002, 11:00 AM i agree with matt. why would you advertise yourself here when all you're doing is trying to sell yourself to your competition? it's best to find other sites where you can sell yourself to people that need hosting.
WildCard 10-08-2002, 12:00 PM Well, I found out about this place while watching Cyberwings implode, and it seemed that a lot of people that were displaced with that move came here to cry or look for replacements.
Then when people cry about Hostrocket and all of the others, it seems that that is when the ads would pay off.
Just not sure if it's worth whatever is paid.
