Host Name: *subdomain* Domain Name: *domainname.com* -will get you: http://subdomain.domainname.com SI-Chris 04-04-2001, 05:02 AM When you set up a new user on a Cobalt server, it automatically sets up space for them that can be accessed by going to http://www.domain.com/~username. Is that what you were talking about? If so, don't forget the "~" before the user name. thednt 04-04-2001, 06:36 AM Hi Created a new virtual host, from the main control panel. Where it asks for host name put in subdomain name. For domain name, put in the domain name. NOW uncheck "allow web access". Otherwise, it RAQ will think you are trying to create a site that already exsists. Now that you have done, go to the sub-domain configuration and reselect "allow web access". Bingo. It works for me and this is the advice I was give by Cobalt ages ago. If you need further help email me. And if so, how to set that up? thednt 04-04-2001, 08:04 AM Yes you can, you just specify the alternate ip address in the "IP" box at the top of the "Create Site" option. I've always done it the correct way, so I'm unsure if the incorrect way works :) thednt 04-04-2001, 10:39 AM To be honest, I use 4Webspace's online control panel, as I belive there are 'major' insecurities hosting your own dns. And Kudos! 4Webspace.com / Tera-Byte.com are excellent! I used colossus.net for a while but they booted me because I asked 'too many support questions'. Rgds |
