Has anyone tried to install majordomo on a RaQ. Can it be done?

AFAIK the mailing list thing on Raq4 (which you said you'll get this week) is majordomo - so you don't need to install it.... :)

Yep Majordomo already comes installed on the RAQs. Each site can have as many mailinglists as is needed, and they're setup and managed via the cobalt controlpanel.
