Ok; I finally did it. Over a year and a half after I signed up with my last host; I signed up for a different one. I was hostless for around a year and a half (Since October 9th, 1999).

Well, this afternoon I called my dad to see if my money went on the credit card, and it did. I renewed the domain I was going to use, and then I talked to Chuck Fox at Ventures Online regarding how we got about transferring the domain. He nicely informed me to sign up, and we can go from there.

I signed up, and with in minutes, if not seconds I hate the Account Information. All of it worked like a charm. Includes all your basic information, etc.

I noticed that I had signed up for "Quarterly" Billing, when I prefer "Monthly" Billing. Well, I quickly sent an e-mail to the Billing Department.

In the meantime, I was looking for some information, and was asking Chuck where I could find it. He said I needed the invoice, which would be coming later. In the meantime he said I could go watch Alf, and when I came back it would be there.

After watching a funny episode of Alf, I came back and low and behold guess what, it was there.

I had my updated invoice, along with a response from Pat regarding the billing mess up, which was my fault.

Chuck finally helped me get my Domain Name Transferred, via 000domains.com and giving me instructions on how to do so.

Just waiting for it to switch and propogate through the net, and I'll be testing out more stuff.

So far, Ventures Online has been pretty good.

I know Duster has mentioned this before, but saying that you've just signed up with someone and you're satisfied/ecstatic/so happy you could scream is not what I'd call a ringing endorsement. In fact, it borders on complete uselessness. Since VO has only been around for a little while, and since UltraspeedUSA went away in a most bizarre fashion, I tend to give comments like this the weight they deserve. Perhaps the forum could be renamed Bandwagons R Us...

The words "satisfied", "ecstatic" and the phrase "so happy you could scream" does not mean the same thing. If you have half a brain you'd see that I only said "satisfied". Besides, the title of the thread is "Ventures Online Comments" and not "Ventures Online Endorsement". Again, the words "comments" and "endorsements" have different meanings. As far as I'm concerned, I'm gave my comment and I was on the topic of this thread. I suggest you do the same and stop looking for trouble.

Really, it's not like this person is Bailey. Now that would be an accurate example of your point (And no, not about VO, just about the person and their, well, "enthusiasm" about how whatever host they are on, is the greatest in the world, including USUSA, which she said the same stuff about in the same manner to. Again, not reflecting on VO, but just how some people do go too far with the whole loyalty thing and end up doing ridiculous promotion, as if it's their biggest goal in life, simply because they are happy with the service... and again, going back to those claims on UltraSpeed, it's not a very good incentive, and again, to be clear, I'm not saying this has anything to do with VO at all (and VO is not USUSA), just Bailey and her posts... it just seems weird.

And if you had half a brain, you'd stop to think a moment before you post this tripe. My comments are a general comment on exactly the sort of post you made: people who sign up and then immediately say they're satisifed/ecstatic/so happy they could scream (and did I say that you had said all the above? No). Well, of course you are satisfied. It's rare that unhappy people appear immediately after signing up somewhere. It's quite common, in fact, for people such as yourself to indicate their satisfaction when there has not been ample time to taste all that a host has to offer. If you want to play semantic games, be my guest, but the fact remains that you are forming an opinion already without any basis whatsoever other than your account was set up and activated. What a bonus for you. And it remains a disservice, just as has been discussed previously. Feel free to carry on, though, with your word games if you must. Too bad vBulletin does not have killfiles. Yet.
