I've tried Sphera and what's good with it is it creates a unique operating environment for each virtual site on your machine with its own instance of telnet, ftp, sendmail, apache, etc. What this mean is you don't have to worry that a POP account name has already been taken by other existing virtual sites on the machine. This avoid headaches when your preferred client complains that she cannot create her own e-mail address (as I've experienced with my RAQ).
I've also read in the posts that Ensim has similar features.
My question is: Are there any other operating environment that offer the same features?
--And are there any providers out there that offer this hosting environment (other than Ensim and Sphera) on their servers ?
I used to have virtual hosting accounts with VServers and I guess they have similar system running on their BSDI servers.

Ensim just released a new Version of their Control Panel Called WEBppliance LS. It takes any Red Hat server and turns it into a hosting appliance.. Saw the PR on their web site. The price is good.. $99 for a 10 domain lic.

thewebbie,
I read the Ensim WEBappliance manuals and I think it has a nice and easy to use interface but I cannot see any big advantage it has to say, RAQ4, which also has a very easy to use interface. While WEBappliance is an add-on ($$ on top of your existing machine), the RAQ4 interface is built-in with the (now as low as $99 a month) server.
Also Ensim cannot compete with the power of Sphera which can create up to 200 or unlimited VDS -- Virtual Dedicated Server, on one machine. A VDS has its own operating environment with its own set of DNS, telnet, ftp, apache, etc. and with the ability to create unlimited number virtual hosts (on one VDS).

From my experiene Ensim can create Virtual Dedicated Servers.
I know from some very bad experience with a dedicated host who put a few dedicated server costumers on ONE server.
1. You are comparing a $300/mth product to one that is a one time fee of 100-600, and 2.
2. I think it is pretty similar as it also does split servers on one server. But I am not to familair with either.
3. A RAQ is a RAQ and we all know they have small processors and limited paths for upgrades with Ensim you can use this on any server and thus have more upgrade potentials etc. You really cant compare the two..

WOW, I just took a look at the new ensim setup and I must say I am impressed. Very nice interface with good documentation from what I can tell. There are just a few things that seem to be missing but thats just from taking a look at a demo that I don't think is fully functional so I will have to take a look at the documentation to see what is actually there and not.
what's the address to the demo?
