any VDI based host allows subdomains. for a recommendation, try http://www.venturesonline.com

http://www.hostmatters.com offers 3 sub-domains at no charge and a $5 one-time setup thereafter. I have heard lots of good things about them.

Venturesonline also has a good rep, I was with UltraspeedUSA until Dan and Paul left for Venturesonline and I must say they both provided me with great support.

1. subdomains [at least 50], and cooresponding FTPs
2. bandwidth transfer
3. Domain pointers
4. Webspace

is this ez-web-hosting.com reputable and any good?
and anyone know if they offer domain pointers?

Their design doesnt exactly exude professionalism, so that is why I am asking.

Any host using the standard Cpanel will be able to offer subdomains with corresponding FTP accounts. Domain pointers requires some special modifications on the host's part... but can be done.

When you say "bandwidth transfer" how much are you looking for? Are you trying to track the bandwidth used by the subdomain accounts? If so... I'm not sure of any hosts that allow you to setup sub-accounts and track their data transfer usage (or even limit their webspace for that matter).

Would you please clarify what you mean so that we can make a more accurate recommendation?

I still maintain that if anybody emailed me from a public discussion forum I would be onto them like a shot. Not hiding your email address on a discussion forum is not an invite for personal email.

Now...onto that new post suggesting a "Wanted" forum so those dastardly posters can stop getting us helpful hosts into trouble. :-)

PepsiCoke: The one you've seen with unlimited subdomains might have been EliteHosts.com. They have meanwhile reduced their promises, especially no more JSP (and raised the price from 5 to 8$), but the unlimited subdomains feature is still there.

The thing looks a bit weird though: e.g. they offer SSL but themselves collect CC information on a non-secure page. No reasonable contact information...
